Lack of Communication

I was super excited to work with Jennah on my wedding day, as she is very obviously one of the most talented makeup artists in the tri-state area in my opinion. Unfortunately, after sending her my signed contract, I received zero response on where to send a deposit, travel fees, reference photos, the possibility of setting up a trial, etc. I did send her back my contract outside of her initially requested time-frame so I assumed that my spot was no longer available, but was unsure due to lack of response. Receiving nothing back after about a month, I assumed that she was no longer available. 5 days before my wedding I receive an email from Jennah, asking to go over the final details for my day. I let her know, due to her lack of response I had made other plans for my day. She said that she was sorry that *I* was confused and could show me the signed contract, and I reminded her how after I sent my contract I received zero response or outreach from her. She then didn’t respond again, leaving me in the dark on if she would be showing up to my venue the day of my wedding requesting to perform a 400-600 service or not. As a freelancer myself, I understand how things might get lost in the sauce sometimes, but accountability and a response would’ve been nice. I do have to say, in all responses I did receive, Jennah was always kind and again this could just be a one off, because she is very talented and seems to have plenty of happy clients. Just my personal experience!
