Do you take on multiple weddings in a day or weekend?

We only handle one client at a time, and that's the way we like it. But if you've booked us for a Saturday event, we'd be happy to discuss handling your rehearsal dinner or brunch as well. Let us know what you have in mind!

Do you also plan other events, like showers or rehearsal dinners?

We've done luxury showers on a case-by-case basis, but we really love handling weddings, because that's our happy place. If you've booked us for a Saturday event, we'd be happy to discuss handling your rehearsal dinner or brunch as well. Let us know what you have in mind!

Describe your experience. How many weddings have you planned, and what are they like? Any specialties?

Accepted Answer

All of our designs prominently feature nature, and many of our events occur in outdoor settings. Idyllwild is here to help you realistically prepare for the challenges these types of events present. We live for details and absolutely love drawing out your unique story. It's important to Idyllwild to weave in your personal narrative in a way that's elegant and seamless, not cheesy. That's why we spend a lot of time getting to know you as a couple. We ask a lot of questions, so get ready!

Question 4

Are you part of a team? Who will we be working with?

Accepted Answer

You'll be working directly with Jasmin for the better part of your planning process, most of which happens remotely. In the last month of planning and design, other team members will begin to join. There are typically three Idyllwild team members on-site during the setup of your event.

Question 5

How much time should we expect to spend with you?

Accepted Answer

It's best to start designing 12-15 months in advance. That way nothing is rushed, you have plenty of time to make adjustments to your vision and account for supply chain issues, you have your pick of vendors, we can visit your venue on or about your wedding date and get a real feel for the seasonality of your wedding, and we can really become familiar with one another!

Is all your inventory included in your design fee?

Accepted Answer

No, sorry. The design fee is for the service of pulling together all the many visual and experiential details of your event, emailing and meeting with you, visiting your venue, making recommendations, drafting digital designs and renderings, and our presence at your event for 8-10 hours on your wedding day. Whether we source your flowers, decor structures, rentals, textiles, and paper goods from our own inventory, custom build them, or find it all out in the wild, these are separate goods that will need to be paid for independently. Please consider this when planning your budget.

What are your sustainability practices?

We power our HV home studio (and the rest of our lives) with solar roof tiles. Our Catskills space is completely off-the-grid, meaning we use only solar or battery-operated tools, collect our water in rain barrels, and compost our floral and personal waste. With no utilities, we're able to live on top of the earth without stripping the land of its integrity. We reduced our use of toxic floral foam- once an industry staple- by 75% in 2021, and our work in 2022 has been completely foam free. Blooms come from both home and abroad, but where possible, we use flowers procured from local wholesalers, upstate NY farms, and our own cutting garden.

We see you also offer floral design. Is there a minimum budget?

Yes, our custom floral design services begin at $7500.

Question 9

Do we have to use Idyllwild for flowers?

Accepted Answer

No! We're happy to collaborate with other floral designers, especially if you have your heart set on a certain artist's original work. We would much rather you engage that artist directly than ask us to make a substandard copy. That said, our event style works best with loose and organic floral design styles that incorporate color theory, movement, and thoughtful texture. We definitely don't do glitter, hanging crystals, or elevated flower balls paved with purple orchids and hot pink roses.

Do you offer coordination?

We have shelved coordination services indefinitely. We're happy to refer you to a coordinator who works well with us, but logistics are just not in our zone of genius. We're mood board people, not spreadsheet people, ya feel? If you're not sure what the difference is, feel free to ask! We've got an infographic for that.
