About this venue

The Brooklyn Museum stands on land that is part of the unceded, ancestral homeland of the Lenape (Delaware) people. As a sign of respect, we recognize and honor the Lenape (Delaware) Nations, their elders past and present, and future generations. We are committed to addressing exclusions and erasures of Indigenous peoples, and confronting the ongoing legacies of settler colonialism in the Museum’s work. One of the largest art museums in the country, the Brooklyn Museum is a fantastic venue for your next event located in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. With three unique spaces and a capacity of 880, our venue provides an excellent environment for anything from wedding ceremonies and receptions, cocktail parties, or corporate events.

Our mission is to create inspiring encounters with art that expand the ways we see ourselves, the world and its possibilities.

This magnificent, timeless space measures 10,000 square feet and two stories high, rising 60 feet above the floor to culminate in a dramatic skylight. It boasts historic features such as original archways, a large brass chandelier, and an updated glass-tile floor originally completed in 1927. While rich in history, the Beaux-Arts Court offers modern-day amenities including air-conditioning, a contemporary lighting system, and a recently completed bridal suite.

When we're closed to the public. At times when spaces aren't being used for exhibitions or public programs (make sure to book well in advance so that you have a better chance of securing the date you'd like!)

Once you've visited us and looked at the space or spaces you're interested in, or discussed your event with our Special Events representative (if you can't make an in-person visit), we'll provide a specially tailored proposal with all estimated fees.

Our peak seasons are typically Spring, Fall and Summer (March – early November). We see a peak in weddings during the spring and fall with a few throughout the summer and non-profit gala season is typically during the spring.

Winter (December – February) is usually our off-peak season.

We have an exclusive catering vendor, Great Performances, and alcohol would need to be coordinated through them.

We do have a parking lot on-site, however, it is privately operated by GGMC.

We do have accessible facilities.
