About this venue

Those who have lived in the Great Lakes region for any period will recognize the magic in the phrase "heading up north." Everyone has that vacation spot that allows them to escape the hustle and bustle of the everyday and focus on what's truly important: family, friends, and fun. The Brule River Barn’s focus has always been family. We renovated our barn for our daughter’s wedding in 2012 and continue to work to make each of our clients’ weddings as special as hers was. Our premiere Weekend Wedding Experience include our Farmhouse and Cottage so you can spend your time with your friends and family building some of the best memories of your life. Come enjoy the carefully curated grounds, gardens, and multiple buildings and ceremony sites that ensure you get exactly what you want. Open Memorial Day weekend to mid-October.

The Barn | The Hay Loft

The heart of the Brule River Barn

The top floor of the Barn features vaulted ceilings with the original barnboard walls, cafe lights, and a wet bar. The flooring is double-thick for a night of dancing away and an eclectic collection of dining chairs and tables circle the room for when you need to take a break. The concrete-countered bar features a sink and a keg fridge with 3 taps and CO2 included. An attached deck overlooks the grounds and includes our version of the Love Bridge with couples' padlocks of love.

    The Brule River Barn provides the perfect combination of natural beauty, refined accommodations, and personalized service to make any wedding celebration a dream come true. From the ceremony site options to the available lodging, there is everything needed for an amazing and memorable event right on the property. If you happen to go exploring, nearby excursion options complement the experience for anyone looking to explore the river, Lake Superior, or other attractions in the area. While our event was an intimate and informal gathering of family and friends, the venue could definitely accommodate larger groups and easily maintain its unique sophisticated charm for any desired level of formality. Jill’s talent and vision are reflected throughout the grounds amid patches of floral color and creative collections of rustic artistry. Attention to detail is found in the items available on the property, from kitchen supplies to toiletries. The delightfully charismatic spaces throughout the property can accommodate grand speeches for a crowd or intimate conversation in a corner tucked away from it all. You somehow are instantly relaxed and energized at the same time among your surroundings, which is reinforced by the impeccable service and support Jill provides. Unique photo opportunities abound at The Brule River Barn, helping to ensure that you will have lifelong memories to hold in a frame and in your heart.
