About this venue

The DuPage County Historical Museum is housed in what was formerly known as the Adams Memorial Library. The building was erected by John Quincy Adams (a distant relative of the Adams presidents) in 1891 to serve as a library and community center for Wheaton in memory of his late wife, Marilla Phipps Adams. In 1967, the building opened as the DuPage County Historical Museum under the operation of the County of DuPage and DuPage County Historical Society. Today, the Museum is operated as a facility of the Wheaton Park District and owned by the County of DuPage. It is the only institution dedicated to the collection, preservation, interpretation, and exhibition of materials which document the history of DuPage County.

The Museum is located in downtown Wheaton, Illinois. Street parking is available for customers and patrons with time limitations from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday. A parking garage is also available within walking distance of the Museum.

No, all alcohol has to be purchased and served through our partner, Arrowhead Golf Club. Please contact us for more information.

The Museum is accessible by elevator on all three levels. The building includes two single-use restrooms, one on the first floor and an accessible restroom on the lower level. The elevator entrance is located on the south side of the building from Main Street.

Hours vary based off of which wedding package you choose. The ceremony package is 3 hours, the reception package is 6 hours, and the ceremony/reception package is 8 hours. Other wedding events are priced on a per hour basis.
