About this venue

Rue Bourbon Events is a collection of historic spaces within the heart of the French Quarter. Our flagship 207-year-old building is housed within the same structure as the famed Old Absinthe House bar and offers three-floors of private event space. Rue Bourbon Events is a perfect fit for wedding welcome cocktail receptions, wedding after-parties, and goodbye brunches. We offer elevated beverage service with craft and signature cocktail menus available and partner with local legend Cristina Quackenbush to deliver stunning catering options. Spaces within our flagship building can be combined to offer cocktail-style reception space for up to 230 guests. The three floors are united via a spiral staircase. We do offer two satellite spaces for more casual affairs--think collegiate events and rowdier wedding afters. These two spaces are located at 201 and 400 Bourbon Street and do feature limited catering menus due to their lack of an on-property kitchen.

Parlour + Mezzanine Bar

An airy, intimate ballroom-style space with an adjacent sunroom + vintage mahogany bar.

The Parlour and Mezzanine Bar are connected via two turquoise French doors and offer two distinct vibes. The Parlour is a light and bright room with turn-of-the-century chandeliers and vintage built-ins. The Mezzanine Bar is a sunroom-style space with large glass windows overlooking Bienville Street. The Mezzanine Bar features a mahogany built-in bar and exposed brick.

All lighting is on dimmers to allow for customization. Overhead speaker system for background music. A mix of lounge and dining furniture is available for use with this space. All Rue Bourbon venues are rented via food and beverage minimums and include our roster of talented bartenders, floor attendants, and captains.

Rue Bourbon Events is located in the heart of the French Quarter and does not offer on-site parking. Bourbon Street, in particular, is best accessed by foot or ride-share. We can, however, recommend the closest parking garages + lots to the venue upon request!

We have three distinct peak seasons here in New Orleans: Fall (October + November), Mardi Gras (typically February), and Spring (March, April, and May.)

The summers can be quite hot and tend to be a locals-only time of year. July, August, and September can be especially sweltering--fear not as we'll craft the ice-laden cocktails of your dreams and blast the central air-conditioning.

We typically do not allow outside alcohol but do make exceptions in special circumstances. Let us know what you were thinking and we'll see if we can swing it!

Our building is over 200-years-old--which makes for a very cool, benevolently haunted venue, but does mean that we have been limited in the upgrades that can be made to the space. Our 240 Bourbon Street building does not feature an elevator. Private event restrooms are located on the second and third floors but guests who are not comfortable ascending/descending the spiral staircase may use the first-floor restroom located within Old Absinthe House. Unfortunately, this bathroom is also located in our fairly ancient building and is limited in its accessibility as it does not feature wheelchair turnaround space.
