About this venue
Star Hill is a re-creation of a Texas Hill Country community typical of the early 1900s. All of the buildings have been relocated from around the state and carefully restored. Star Hill is centered around the historic Pontotoc Chapel, which has hosted thousands of public worship services and weddings since we opened in the beautiful Hill Country in 2004.

Yes, couples may bring the alcohol they want to serve. Guests may NOT BYOB. If you bring the alcohol to be served, Star Hill Ranch must provide bartending staff.
Yes, there is plenty of on-site parking at no cost. Valet service is available through Star Hill Ranch for an additional fee.
Yes, all our facilities are ADA-compliant wheelchair accessible, with ramps into each venue buildings and ADA-compliant restrooms. Staff are available to assist as needed.
Base venue includes bride's house, groom's quarters/saloon, reception hall, catering prep kitchen, main chapel and outdoor areas. We provide tables & chairs for up to 200, many of the buildings are pre-furnished & lots of little extras. We have a huge collection of standard rentals & unique rental items available in-house for rental at lower rates than market and w/o added delivery/pick up fees.
We provide access from 8 am to 10 pm, Sunday through Thursday; 8 am to 11 pm, Friday and Saturday. Additional hours may be purchased for after-parties upon request.
Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable. If you cancel and we are unable to re-book, you are responsible for the full value of the contract. We will work with you should COVID or some other local, county, state or national emergency cause a shutdown. Third party cancellation insurance is suggested if you are concerned you may have to cancel.
We are about 25-30 minutes from Austin's airport, via Highway 71
Yes, there are lots of hotel options within 5 to 10 minutes, ranging from budget to luxury... but all lower priced than downtown hotels. There are also bed-n-breakfast options in the nearby hill country or on Lake Travis, as well as a nearby RV park.
Yes, Star Hill Ranch is located in a growing, affluent area, and Uber and LYFT are normally just minutes away.
Yes, we do offer our couples the freedom to choose your own vendors. We've been doing this a long time, so we recommend chatting with us about any vendors you are considering. We work with many of our couples to assist in matching you up to the right vendors, as we know most of the good ones in the Austin area!
Yes, we welcome the couple to bring their furry friends! We have a few rules to ensure no one "steps in it" and a few safeguards in case your pet reacts differently than in their normal home environment. We respectfully ask that you not invite guests to bring pets, excepting service animals.
Yes, we would love for you to have the beautiful pictures and video with a sparkler send-off! We have a few rules, but we'll make sure it is safe and fun for you, your guests and our property!
Yes, we have an excellent in-house, but independent of us, coordinator that offers day-of, month-of and full coordination. You are welcome to bring in an outside coordinator, but we strongly suggest that you consider her because she knows the property better than any others, she is very reasonably priced, and she is damn good!
Generally we do not, because of a) the risk of fire, and b) the disturbance to area residents. If you REALLY want fireworks, it will be subject to permitting, notification, fees and may not happen during a burn ban or other inclement weather.
Very simply - two people that love one another and want to celebrate with us. We are inclusive... we welcome everyone and hope that you feel like part of our family, no matter what!
We are very transparent and we'll provide you with a detailed proposal for serious inquiries. Outside of the venue cost, we are required by our insurance provider to collect a damage deposit. There are a few local city ordinances that we must comply with, but they only apply in certain circumstances. Everything else we offer is optional.
We will work with you to set up a few smoking/vaping areas. We respectfully ask that everyone ONLY use these areas, as our buildings cannot be replaced (they are all 75-150 years old) and we ask that everyone be respectful of not leaving odors in buildings, smoke in non-designated areas because of fire risk, and not upset anyone with sensitivity to smoke/vape fumes.
