About this venue

Tucked into the heart of Topanga Canyon, The 1909 offers couples the perfect blend of rustic and intimate. Featuring an amphitheater, meadow, and two story building (bridal suite included), we provide a variety of space to suit the need of every couple. Hold your ceremony beneath the protected California Oak trees just before enjoying dinner alongside our babbling brook. We provide in-house catering that can be adjusted to suit your taste, which features organic and local fare freshly prepared at our restaurant next door. Tours are conducted on an appointment basis.

Get married beneath the sheltering arms of the Topanga, CA protected oak trees.

This amphitheater built naturally to carry sound during ceremonies can seat up to 90 guests in the tiered seating, and 90 guests on the deck.

    The venue was perfect for us. It had that beautiful natural fantasy feel that we wanted but with the option for that indoor tavern vibe for the reception. We were able to have our dog there all night, and we did a maypole dance on the lawn. Some stuff to note: there is no outside catering allowed which was fine for us bc their food was amazing, but if you had something else in mind for catering that may present a problem. There was also some confusion/miscommunication with invoices, so if you are like me and wait for invoices to know exactly when/how much to pay and where to send the money you may run into some frantic days in the last few months. But overall, the day was amazing.

    From the moment we stepped foot on the property, we knew that we were somewhere special. The 1909 was the most romantic and peaceful backdrop to our wedding day, from the time that we got there in the morning to get ready until 11:00pm when we were out the door. Everything was so easy, the food was incredible, and we felt so supported by the staff (who quickly became friends to us). We cannot The 1909 enough for hosting us and our family and friends for will forever be one of the most cherished days of our lives. Thank you so much!!!! Warmly, Mr. and Mrs. Little

    A venue that makes you feel so much at home! The natural beauty that surrounds this quaint Topanga venue is incredible! Zenobia the Manager is exceptional! She is always there to help the clients, us the vendors at any given time! The warm welcome and the peace and tranquility of this nature filled venue is something any bride and groom will treasure!We have been vendors there since the inception of this venue and loved working with the entire team there! If you are looking for an intimate setting 1909 is the ideal venue! The images of every wedding we have done there is breathtaking! The staff is exceptional, the natural beauty is beyond words!
