You will experience the magic of century-old trees in five romantic acres tended by 15 gardeners, intriguing artwork in unexpected places, seasonally curated flowers, fabulous sunny and shady photographic vistas, nine outdoor terraced levels for entertainment, meals, and ceremonies, hours of hiking trails, hidden passageways, a three-story waterfall, and outdoor and indoor spas. Adding charm are brilliantly colored koi, regal peacocks, curious turtles, giant bullfrogs, stately blue herons, and wild deer and their babies. Your guests will never be bored. All this is in the famed Laurel Canyon, two traffic lights from Hollywood Blvd. When your celebration is at the legendary Houdini Estate, don't expect empty chairs — people do come and will remember your Houdini event for a lifetime.

The Houdini Estate

This majestic venue was originally built during the Edwardian period in the 1900s. This mysterious retreat allowed the iconic Harry Houdini to practice his wondrous tricks and illusions in total secrecy.

The Houdini Estate is a spacious wedding venue that can accommodate up to 1,500 guests for lavish occasions. There is also a selection of both indoor and outdoor event spaces within the Estate. The master suite is a decadent haven for couples who wish for some privacy. It is furnished with a carved mantelpiece and features a sleek bathroom with a spacious bathtub for complete relaxation. Engaged couples and their guests may choose to stay overnight in one of the sophisticated bedrooms. There is an array of contemporary amenities on the property including a heated pool, an outdoor spa, outdoor fireplaces, and barbecue patios. With ample parking spaces available on-site as well as shuttle and valet options for larger events, your guests can access this estate with ease. In addition, full-wheelchair access is provided.

    I had my wedding there on New Years Eve, it was stunning, but I was a bit disappointed in the fact that I could not check in until 11:00am. If you can’t book the venue the day before your wedding it will be a hassle and stressful. The venue is just the home, it does not come with anything. You have to bring literally everything from dance floor, to bar, to catering, chairs and tables (they only have 100 chairs) so I would not recommend booking here if you have a more than 100 guests. Not only does it not come with anything but the venue it is very pricey and they don’t take credit cards! They only accept cash, check or money order so be ready to pay cash! We had 175 guests and I can tell you first hand how expensive it got and, they want their money ON-TIME. They were not very accommodating, more just a matter of fact this is how it is and that’s it. They require you to have a day of coordinator they don’t have one on site so there is another expense. For the venue ALONE, without any other things included we paid about 30,000 cash. I mean stunning yes, but not worth the price, they are very strict, and also you pretty much need to hire a valet service, a trash service, they do not accommodate ANYTHING! Unless you have limitless cash, and can book the venue for the day before that way you can get ready at the venue without rushing I wouldn’t recommend that stress on anyone. If you have money, and can book for at least two days it is a beautiful venue.

    The most romantic, luxury wedding venue in all of L.A. county including Beverly Hills and Malibu. The Houdini Estate is a stunning private property in the Hollywood Hills. The grounds are absolutely fabulous, the team is first-class including the Properry Manager and Wedding Planner which comes with the venue. The planning team is award-winning, provides exceptional service, and knows the venue better than anyone. Don't waste time hiring another planner. Jessica and her Three Little Birds team were the MVP of our wedding day. When you rent the venue you rent it overnight so you don't have to leave at midnight or 1AM. There is a home on the property which sleeps up to 8 people. My husband and I held our rehearsal dinner there on Nov 30th, had our wedding on Dec 1st and spent the night before checking out at 1pm the next day. It was the perfect getaway. We swam in the pool and sat in the hot tub after breakfast (just us two). It was dreamy. Because of their exceptional planning team, we didn't lift a finger except to feed one another. 50 out of 10 highly recommend for any luxury bride.
