About Films by Emelie

Emelie Russell

I grew up in a small town on the west coast of Sweden and while my heart will always long for the ocean breeze, I have made Indiana my home together with my husband, Ryan, and our three children, Felix, Axel and Elinora. I specialize in wedding films that capture all those fleeting moments; the nerves, the excitement, the happy tears, the joy, and the pure love unfolding on one of the most special days of your life.

I care deeply about telling stories that are honest and real. The kinds of weddings that I love to capture and the type of clients I work with are not defined by the style of wedding they have. Outdoor adventures or classic ballrooms, rustic or luxury — the budget, style and vibe of your wedding doesn’t matter as much as telling your story authentically, focusing on emotion and personality, and staying true to who you are. I don’t make cookie cutter wedding videos. Each wedding film I make is different because each couple is unique.

    Emelie is a dream to work with! She takes time to get to know you as a couple and really customizes her work to be as unique as the couple. We are already in love with our teaser film and footage she captured during our engagement session. She is so thoughtful and kind as well, which makes us feel so good entrusting her to capture our wedding! Thank you Emelie!!!

    My husband and I had the pleasure of having Emelie shoot the video for our wedding in April 2020. When we chose Emelie we had planned a large extravagant wedding at our venue with 250+ people. With the pandemic hitting our country just the month before our big day we were stuck with a ton of options and not really knowing what to do. We decided to go through with our wedding plans on our original day but we were only allowed to have 10 people there- including ourselves. There was absolutely no doubt in my mind that Emelie would be one of those 10 people no matter what, and I have never regretted that decision. Emelie captured our day and our love perfectly. I think my favorite thing about her is that she is so quiet that you barely realize she is there but the creative juices are flowing through her and that really shows in all of her videos. My favorite thing to do (probably once a week) is watch our video and cry many happy tears. I love the way she tells all of her couples love stories, but especially ours. My best advice is if you’re thinking about video but don’t know how to fit it in your budget- FIND A WAY! Save all the pennies and throw them toward Emelie. You will never regret it.
