Beyond bringing the energy and making sure that everything went smooth from a music and sound standpoint, they really showed up when it came to guiding us through the wedding day from giving tips to my dad on officiating, guiding my husband and I through cocktail hour so we didn't get stuck in one spot, hyping up the guests for toasts, and helping to fill the dance floor with joy. They are knowledgeable and passionate about weddings and genuine human connection, it is so clear and shines through in their work. They did a great job of reading the crowd and knowing when to step in to add some juice to the crowd vs letting us just dance to our requests vs slowing down the music to create a magical moment (they surprised us with a slow last dance song and had everyone circle up around us, it was truly beautiful). I have two experiences with The Hook Club - the first was when I was a guest at a wedding in the Hamptons, my best friend got married and they played the best music, the wedding was high energy, happy and all the guests were on the dance floor the entire night! After seeing them live, I reached out to hire them for my wedding in Manhattan (at the NYAC right on Central Park South). I was so impressed by how pleasant and organized Jesse Feathersone and Dan Vernam were to work with. They are true professionals, they know what they are doing and they even supported me on how the wedding reception should flow.
