Hi there, thanks for stopping by! I’m Jalen – Owner of Jalen Nicole Floral and Grand Forks native. My story started right out of high school as I began working in floral design here in Grand Forks. I quickly fell in love with the creative process and went on to study at Michael Gaffney’s school of floral design. As I’ve moved through life my passion for floral design has always held true. When the opportunity to open up my own business presented itself I had to go for it, and here we are!

Wood & Word Blooms is run by a Jen Angle, former teacher of 20+ years and specializes in using hand-painted wood flowers along with a faux, dried and preserved florals (nothing fresh here) to bring your wedding vision to life not just for that one glorious day but forever. Besides designing for you, I also offer DIY Wood Flower Experiences to create your wedding florals alongside me in person or virtually and 1:1 sessions to help DIY brides learn to do it themselves.

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Reverie & Rose is a sustainable, realistic, silk and dried wedding florist. We pride ourselves in our unique take on current floral trends. We offer curated collections as well as fully bespoke orders! Our flowers are sustainably sourced from faire wage, female vendors across the US; and our business is proudly female and LGBTQ+ owned. I started working with wood flowers in February of 2020. A friend of mine had recently gotten married, and seeing her bouquet in the trash stuck with me. I researched fresh vs silk flowers, fresh are stunning but expensive & have a fast expiration date. Silk flowers didn’t really satisfy the customization and realism that I desired. I stumbled across wood flowers, purchased a few & quickly realized that not only was I actually a little talented at what I was doing, but I absolutely LOVED doing it. I fell in love almost immediately. I want to express my love & passion for these wood flowers & I want brides to fall in love the same way I did.
