The Carolyn Baldwin Lake Pavilion is named after our dear loved one, Carolyn Varner Baldwin, who unexpectedly passed away in 2008 due to an allergic reaction. She was the matriarch of our family and a beautiful, one-in-a-billion type of person with a generous and loving spirit. She was a talented gardener, a devoted fisherwoman who could out-fish the best of 'em (we're talking "sun-up-til-sundown" kind of fishing), was creative and artsy, and never knew a stranger. We felt it only fitting to name this lovely place in her memory. We are a family-operated business. Joanna is the General Manager and works with each client to accommodate varying event needs. She handles a wide range of aspects of the business, from answering questions about what will make your event run smoothly to giving you layout suggestions. She has worked with over 200 wedding & event clients over the last 10 years and has learned quite a bit about weddings & event planning through her experiences.

Located in the heart of Southern Virginia is the hidden jewel of Mimosa Lake. Mimosa Lake is located across from historic Lunenburg Courthouse. The courthouse was built in the late 1700s and is one of three Thomas Jefferson designed courthouses in the United States. Mimosa Lake is an ideal location for a destination wedding or event. It offers Southern hospitality at its finest. The centerpiece of the property is the 30-acre private lake backdropped by 300 acres of open fields and 400 yr. old evergreen trees providing year-round beauty and privacy for your ceremony. The 7200 sq. ft. rustic barn pavilion and 420 ft. covered veranda overlook the lake. We are 30 minutes from Farmville, Blackstone, and South Hill Virginia. Our waterfront reception space offers a picturesque setting for events, featuring a covered raised slate and brick terrace as an elegant outdoor ballroom. The space is equipped with chandeliers, ambient lighting, and heated/air-conditioned indoor dining area with fireplace. We can accommodate up to 150 guests and offer amenities such as picnic grounds, walking trails, a playground, and white sand beach. Perfect for weddings, reunions, corporate outings, and other celebrations.

We are a completely solar system venue, so not having power the day of your wedding will not be an issue. We offer multiple scenes for your pictures from open fields, apple orchard, pond, beach area, a creek, and woods. So much to choose from. We love hosting wedding and events for others and building lasting relationships.
