Open Air The Glebe is the newest, yet oldest, wedding venue in Charles City County. The historic home was built circa 1745 to serve as the home of the pastor of Westover Parish and was, on occasion, the site of elopements during the mid 1700's. Today, you can host your wedding reception under our 60'x90' tent, have your rehearsal dinner in the Tractor Pavilion--or whatever celebrations you like for a day or for a long weekend. The Estate at River Run offers a dream setting to host a variety of elegant affairs. High on a bluff towering over the James River, this exquisite Georgian Revival offers 16,000 square feet of opulence, built by Taylor and Parrish Construction from 1981-1987. This stately Georgian features an upper brick promenade surrounded by a limestone balustrade and opens to a double curved staircase to the lower terrace. The mansion's interior boasts extravagant architectural embellishment. Marble floors, ornamental cornices, plaster friezes, 18-foot columns with gilded Corinthian capitals, and custom crystal chandeliers please the eye from the onset. A Jeffersonian pool house with a hexagonal raised dome presides over a circular pool with bluestone terraces and a limestone balustrade.
