About this venue

Welcome to Something Blue Berry Farm. We are Steve and Carolyn Rookus, owners of this century old farm property. Steve is a retired Naval officer with a construction management background and Carolyn has followed him all around the world raising 4 children. We have been married for 34 years so we know a little about love and marriage. Our farm speaks to our hearts with its beauty and history and know it will be a romantic setting for your wedding day. We hope you consider Something Blue for your perfect barn wedding. Something Blue Berry Farm is a historic 140 year old property starting as a dairy. With 55 acres of woods and rolling picturesque fields you are sure to find what you are looking for. We have taken great care to preserve the old wood and charm of our barn while updating the space for your event.

Why Choose Us.

Included in the property rental is a beautiful bar out of an antique counter and fireplace, complete catering space, chandeliers, vintage lighting and sound system. We have 240 padded white chairs as well as church pew and bench seating in our ceremony sites. There are two ceremony sites on the property. Our site close to the barn features antique door entrance, arch, and pew seating with the barn as your backdrop. Shade trees provide relief from the sun. Our wooded site features bench seating and beautiful trees as your backdrop. Our outdoor spaces offer patio seating, and breathtaking views of the sunset from our stamped concrete porch. There is plenty of yard space for lawn games and a beautiful rustic fire ring for cool nights. If you choose to have your ceremony here you will have ample time and space to prepare for your wedding. Our farmhouse has a room set aside for your hairstyling and makeup. Our carriage house provides another space for the groom and his party.

We had our ceremony and reception here, and could not have been happier. Valerie was SOO helpful throughout our 2 year engagement, responding to all of my texts with nothing but kindness and help. The days leading up to it, she had everything sorted out for the wedding to go off without a hitch. I did not notice any problems with the wedding, and when there were some Valerie quickly sorted it out without me noticing anything went wrong. The getting ready rooms, ceremony sites, barn, and outdoor locations were incredibly gorgeous, and I could not recommend this venue and staff more. Our guests all loved the venue and had a blast!

Carolyn and Valorie were phenomenal with everything! Had chances of rain they were on it with a backup plan ready to go. The path was muddy they cleaned out cars and took people back to the wooded site themselves. Could not have asked for anything to go smoother. Wonderful communication and help with everything!
