Bassist and bandleader Josh Levine got his start in the professional music business busking in SoHo with The Flying Neutrinos in ’93, so when NYC shut down in Spring of 2020, he capitalized on his experience as a street performer and began to play regularly in the parks of NYC with percussionist and sonero, Jainardo Batista, renowned flutist Itai Kriss making his debut on Cuban trés guitar, and María Raquel on vocals and minor percussion. Before long, the quartet had generated some buzz, several venues hired them to play outdoors and pianist Gabriel Chakarji and Grammy winning flutist and vocalist Jeremy Bosch became staples of the group.

“I have used Cuarteto Guataca both personally (birthdays, family events) and professionally as a wedding/ event florist and event planner for YEARS. Every time they manage to get everyone on their feet. They are super professional always and extremely easy to work with. Hands down, Josh and his band will always be my first choice for latin entertainment (any entertainment for that matter)!!”
