We found this venue after a quick Google search, and we ended up loving it! The venue itself is rustic and beautiful with all of the succulents. The company was good to work with and answered all of our questions! There were 2 issues I had working with them, but overall they were easy to work with. We worked with a different person for each step of the planning process. I had a different consultant for my first call, in person consult, and day of planner (who was absolutely amazing!). Much of the time when we emailed questions, they were answered by different people within the company and I would receive multiple replies for the same question. I would’ve really liked to have just one contact instead of bouncing between people. My second problem is that it would be days before I would get a reply from them, and much of the communication was behind of the schedule we were initially given. I received an email for our final payment with specific instructions a week late on the day of the rehearsal…which was also when the payment was due. Luckily we were able to scrape it together just in time. All in all, they were great, put together a wonderful wedding day and took good care of us.

We booked FruitCraft before even seeing the venue 2 years before our wedding. We live in New York but grew up in San Diego and knew we wanted to celebrate there. We knew we wanted a space that was relaxed for all of our guests. We loved all the greenery and just the overall vibe of the space. Alan was so helpful in answering our questions, which we had ALOT since we were planning from another state. When we finally saw the venue it was even better than the photos! Day of their staff took such great care of us and our guests. We chose the Mediterranean chicken skewers for our dinner and of course had to do the full bar package. The drinks were an experience for our guests and everyone kept telling us how good everything was! We can't imagine having had our wedding anywhere else. Cant wait to visit in the future 3

With its unique, upscale experience, whimsical cocktails, classically-flavored food, local craft beers, and boutique & artisan wine selections, Union Kitchen & Tap has been spell-binding for tourists and locals alike since 2011. If you are looking for a place to host your next event, then check them out! My husband and I had our wedding reception at Union Kitchen and Tap in Encinitas in October. We were blown away by the service provided and fell in love with the atmosphere, the food, and the support from their staff. The staff totally killed it! Amazing food, personalized drinks that our guest LOVED and would not stop talking about, and let's not forget about the friendly service. Our wedding day could not have been possible without these guys. One of our favorite memories is watching the Union team members dancing, singing and having fun along with the 80's Flashpants band. A special shoutout to Amy, Union Kitchen and Taps event coordinator! Amy made the overwhelming process of wedding planning fun, easy and truly enjoyable. She is personable, down to earth, kind and radiated a calming presence that helped ease all the nerves that come along with a big event. Her knowledge and experience in the field shows and her passion for making our vision come to life was evident. She was extremely patient with us and took the time to understand our vision and then was able to execute it with such grace. Amy supported all of our menu changes and day of event schedule changes with ease. Anytime we had an idea, she made it happen.... no questions asked. She really went above and beyond to make this day perfect. We can't even begin to explain how blessed we were to have Amy be a part of our day! C&S Randolph

An Iconic Carlsbad Landmark Completely Reimagined. San Diego’s newest 5-star wedding venue. With flower fields on one side and the ocean waves on the other, The Carlsbad Windmill by Wedgewood Weddings combines a quirky Danish-style building with luxe modern amenities and a trendy locale. It's all topped off with spectacular event spaces, expert staff, raved-about service, a dressing suite fit to spoil you, and standout decor that feels both grand and grounded.

Awarded Best of Zola
The team at Carlsbad Windmill is top-notch. Friendly, attentive, and really good at their jobs! As a wedding guest last December, I had an incredible time! First off, the ceremony hall is like stepping into a cathedral of light and space. High ceilings? Check. Skylights? Double check. And there's a window wall on your right, so we all caught a mesmerizing silhouette of the bride before her grand entrance: incredible. We headed out to the patio for photos, drinks, a delicious cheese platter, and supersized Jenga, then made our way up to the great hall. The theme was gorgeous with colorful tropical flowers, blue glassware, exposed rafters, and beautiful modern bubble chandeliers. And get this—they had a phone service that turned your well-wishes into an vinyl LP. The dessert bar and drink selection were top-notch and we all loved the buffet. The DJ was fabulous: we danced and danced ... Then 10 steps and we were tucked up in the Carlsbad by the Sea Hotel. We had a great time and highly recommend Carlsbad Windmill by Wedgewood Weddings.

Ethereal Gardens

4.6

Escondido, CA
  • Up to 500 guests
  • Limited services
  • Indoor & outdoor

Set on 40 acres of edible gardens, surrounded by old growth orchards and 100 acres of organic herb and vegetable farms… An “out of the box” venue that is completely private and not just another golf course, winery, banquet hall or hotel. Here we are open to creative ideas and outside vendors such as florists, photographers, photo booths, food trucks and so much more.

Ethereal gardens is a gorgeous venue and my wedding was stunning. That said, there are several things that Ethereal Gardens/Trademark Venues needs to improve on. 1- The contract includes additional costs (service fees, bar, additional guests, decor, etc) It becomes overwhelming and confusing to understand exactly how much your final cost will be. It needs to be better organized. 2- The invoice is the only location where you can see your cost breakdown, and they do not date any changes to the invoice. So one day your total cost is X, the next day it’s Y, and you have no idea what was added to the invoice. There is no record of changes. This is not a best practice for running a business and caused us extra stress. 3- The contract states that you cannot have a coordinator or a wedding planner because Trademark IS the wedding planner. This was frustrating because I did everything that a wedding planner should have done (creating the floor plan and seating chart, coordinating meetings, timeline, selecting/communicating with vendors…). Would have been nice to be able to have a planner to do those things like we were promised. 4- My planner tried to start my ceremony early, almost 20 minutes early! Even though most of my family wasn’t there yet! Luckily I said no and it went on as planned but that shouldn’t have even been suggested. 5- The security guards were VERY rude to guests who showed up late. 6- The venue set up my guest book upside down so the signatures are at the back of the book, welcome table was messy, and my gorgeous seating chart was set against an ugly brown wall so all photos of it are ruined. 7- Two full rows at the front during the ceremony were empty because people didn’t know they could sit there. This ruined certain photos because it’s very empty looking. 8- Getting-ready rooms are available at 11:30am (bride) and 2:30pm (groom) regardless of when your wedding starts. The venue does not accommodate based on your specific wedding timeline- unless you pay 1500 which only gets you an extra hour in the rooms. Wish we would have known that up front. Caused more stress and confusion. 9- A security guard snapped his fingers at one of my guests to tell them to leave when he was just waiting for his girlfriend to get out of the bathroom. And the staff started taking tables apart as our wedding was still going on! This led to one of our guests losing a jacket that was on the back of a chair someone took away. Summary: Wedding was beautiful, food was great, venue was gorgeous. However Ethereal Garden’s processes are messy and very greedy/money focused, and some their staff is rude and made guests uncomfortable.
