The site of Risley Landing Gardens was held by the Risley family for over 100 years. In 1983, it was donated to the Oak Grove Garden Club by Hugh G. Starkweather (the grandson of Jacob S. Risley) and William Starkweather. William was the son of Harvey Starkweather, a prominent legislator and educator. Mr. Starkweather wanted the site to be a memorial park in honor of his mother and sisters. A bronze plaque dedicated to them is implanted on the wall of the Landing.

The garden venue area is a park like setting adjacent to the indoor stables; providing ample space for guests to watch and enjoy the celebration of your vows and attend your wedding reception. All offered amenities are included in the rental price, along with set up and take down. Guests are encouraged to add their own special touches such as pictures, decor, and flowers; but, we strive to provide a venue that is wedding ready. Tours are available by appointment. A deposit is required to hold your date. The final payment and proof of event rider insurance is due 30 days prior to your wedding. Mount Pisgah Arboretum’s beautiful White Oak Pavilion is a 3,000 square foot building with large wooden glassed-in sliding doors that open on all sides to reveal the peaceful scenery and oak savannah landscapes of the Arboretum. The building is easily accessible to caterers, musicians, and guests. Photo opportunities at Mount Pisgah Arboretum include our vast Oak Savannah, the Great Meadows, large canopied forests, a lovely sandy beach along the Coast Fork River, the beautiful Adkison Footbridge in our Water Garden, our vintage, photogenic barn and over 200 acres of majestic trees, paths and nature. Mount Pisgah Arboretum is a non-profit organization and our main mission is education. Your wedding rental fee goes directly into our children's education program. This helps the Arboretum bring out over 3,000 school children each year to discover nature on our guided field trips. This park is open to the public 365 days a year.

Heceta Head is one of the most beautiful lighthouses in the world! The Lighthouse and Light Keeper’s home are circa 1894. Both are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. From a height of 205 feet above the ocean, its “first order” Fresnel lens, casts it’s beams some 21 miles out to sea. It is the brightest light on the Oregon coast. It is said to be the most photographed lighthouse in the United States. The Light Keeper’s home is perched on a cliff with a magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean and the beach below.
