The Hobson is housed in the former City Building in downtown Kokomo. The Richardsonian Romanesque style building was built in 1893, and has undergone an intricate, stunning renovation. The third floor now houses the breathtaking two-story ballroom, holding up to 175 guests. The handsomely-constructed bar connects the ballroom to the lounge area, adorned with vintage-inspired William Morris wallpaper and bold brass fixtures. Day-of coordination services are offered with every package to ensure you are a guest at your own event. The staff at The Hobson works with you one on one prior to the event to coordinate all of your details and execute the day seamlessly while you relax and enjoy.

From its historical beginnings as a stoic munitions depot, The Armory experienced a beautiful transformation to showcase a sophisticated ballroom, classy built-in bar and impressive commercial kitchen. Original element of the 1928 Armory construction and subsequent Newman Recreations Center were incorporated into the even space renovation to provide the perfect blend of past and present.Iron-barred doors used to secure armers and thick concrete walls reinforced with brick to accommodate the National Guard Armory and shooting range lend a rustic industrial aesthetic. Wood from the recreation center bleachers line the dramatic bar and the orginial hardwood floor was dressed up to grace the ballroom. The vaulted timber ceilings and exposed truss work allow the dazzling period chandeliers an opportunity to lend an air of elegance to the urban decor. Charm abounds in the union of classic architecture with a modern flair.

Established in 1977, Matterhorn has become one of Elkhart’s most treasured and long-standing venues. The East Room is the venue’s smallest space and provides a cozy setting for up to 80 people. The helpful staff can easily join the East, Oak, and West Rooms into a combination that best suits the desired needs and capacity.
