I am an elopement and wedding photographer based in Northern California, who shoots for the fun quirky weirdos who are unabashedly themselves. Awarded Best of Zola
We are so incredibly grateful to have had Katelyn as our wedding photographer. Not only is she an extremely talented and professional photographer, she is an amazing human being that was so comforting to have throughout the wedding planning process and on the day of. She is simultaneously playful, flexible, and organic as well as organized and methodical throughout her photoshoots and has taken the best, most extensive set of photos of us as a couple to capture such an awesome moment in time. We had a wedding ceremony and reception with a ton of things going on and huge shot list that Katelyn executed flawlessly and went above and beyond to fully document our big day. Can't recommend her enough!!!

I’m Cherlyn (rhymes with Berlin). So nice to e-meet you! If we met in person and it wasn’t during a pandemic- I would probably hug you! I’m an introvert-extrovert and tend to ramble too much when I get nervous. In emails - I tend to use exclamation points a lot!! (and will agonize over my drafts of emails before sending them because they probably have one too many!!) My aim as your photographer is to provide a memorable experience where you two feel comfortable, taken care of, and get to fully enjoy your wedding day as much as possible with all your guests & loved ones - whether they be in real life or via livestream!

Cherlyn is a dream. A friend of ours recommended her to us for our engagement photos and I swear she has some inside scoop with the sun because the lighting was insane (in a good way). She literally managed to find every single shimmer the golden hour had to offer. My husband (never gets old) and I pulled together a somewhat last minute ceremony and reached out equally last minute to see if she was available, and thankfully she was. Our ceremony was followed by dinner and drinks at two separate locations hours apart - so we had super low expectations for capturing the whole day. Cherlyn not only came to each location, she helped with set up, and did her thing making sure every special moment was photographed. She's personable, thoughtful and will go out of her way to make you and your partner feel comfortable. For us she felt like an extension of our community and a new friend. If you're in the SF Bay Area, look no further. You won't be disappointed.

I believe love is love and happily photograph couples of all backgrounds, orientations, religions and gender expressions. I aim to create authentic and emotive images for my clients and edit true to color so the work will be timeless. My personality is friendly and warm, which helps make my couples feel at ease and open up in front of the camera. I donate $100 from every wedding day package to a non profit organization (either the ACLU, End the Backlog or the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation) because I believe paying it forward in honor of love is an excellent first step into marriage.

Looking back at the day of our wedding we know if we had a different photographer, the vibe would have been completely different. Not only is Jenna extremely professional and talented, but she provided a sense of calmness throughout the day. It was exactly what we needed. Her communication with us was top notch from the moment we inquired about her services. & to top it all off we are obsessed with our photos!! We would book her again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend her!

The Ganeys

5.0

Lafayette, CA
  • Fine art style

I’ve always been the girl with the camera. In high school, my idea of a good time was planning photoshoots with my friends and editing our high school yearbook. But when I got to college, I felt like I needed to get a practical degree, so I chose the most creative business major I could find – marketing. Then I met Thomas. My photo hobby became something more because he recognized my passion and encouraged me to make it a reality. He’s been my second shooter since the very first wedding.

I've been putting off writing this review because I feel like no words can fully explain the amazing experience I had with the Ganeys. I first met Emily and Thomas when I was a bridesmaid in my friends' wedding in Florida, which the Ganeys were shooting! Based on that day and the resulting photos, I knew how talented this pair was and I REALLY wanted them for my own wedding. After getting engaged, I actually reached out to Emily before we even had a venue or date booked. Once they signed on to be our wedding photographers, my (already high) expectations were totally exceeded. I loved how organized, detailed-oriented, and responsive Emily was as we planned our engagement shoot and wedding day. At the engagement shoot, they did an amazing job including our 2 golden retrievers and shooting in sub-optimal weather conditions. Emily is so kind, thoughtful, and talented as a photographer, and Thomas is the secret ingredient that makes grooms everywhere feel at ease! This husband and wife team communicates so well and I believe that is part of the reason why they make their jobs look so effortless and fun on your wedding day and why the photos are so breathtaking. We can't wait to host Emily and Thomas at our house in a few weeks, and show off the way we've displayed their photos around the house!! I would be more than happy to share my full gallery and answer questions from any other brides/grooms considering the Ganeys.

A Perfect Impression

5.0

Brentwood, CA
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,195

A renowned wedding photography studio in the San Francisco Bay Area, has been capturing beautiful wedding moments for over two decades. In partnership with Wedgewood, our classically trained photographers and videographers cover around 100 weddings annually. We excel in not just photography but also in coordinating and assisting, ensuring a seamless and memorable wedding day for each couple.

We really enjoyed working with A Perfect Impression. We got married at Redwood Canyon by Wedgewood Weddings, and API was the photography vendor they recommended. We spoke with Aaron on the phone, and he got an idea of how we wanted the photos to be, the locations we wanted, etc. On our wedding day, we worked with Andy and Maddie, both amazing photographers. Andy especially made us feel comfortable taking pictures at the house while getting ready (the bride), at our church ceremony and at our reception venue. Maddie took great pictures during the activities to finish the night at our reception. We would definitely recommend A Perfect Impression for anyone's photographer needs.

Joyce was amazing!! She photographed our engagement shoot and I told her from the start that my fiancé and I both are pretty awkward when it comes to posing in front of the camera lol. She made us feel very comfortable and the experience was really fun! She also had great tips and ideas for poses. The pictures turned out BEAUTIFUL and I'm so happy I found Joyce! Would definitely recommend )

In the off chance you're booking at a Northern CA Wedgewood venue, I have hundreds of hours of experience at each of their venues and work very closely with the everyone of the staff at Wedgewood.

We flew Thomas out to Mexico to shoot our wedding and the days surrounding. Best decision ever. He took incredible candid and posed shots, one of which is now hanging in our dining room for all to see. Thomas is not only talented - he is kind, patient, and goes above and beyond each time we hire him to capture our celebrations. He is great with kids, manages stress well (think family photo with 30 people) and his post editing skills are detailed and sharp. Book him quick :)

Livermore, CA

I'm Hannah, a full time wedding and portrait photographer in Livermore, California. To me, photography is so much more than just hiring another vendor. And that's why you should choose someone you truly love to work with! I believe the real magic happens during the in-between moments – a secret smile shared by the parents; a tearful hug with the maid of honor; a quirky moment with the best man. These memories are far more precious than any staged photo, and these are the memories I want to capture for you on your big day.

Tyler was amazing to work with. He did our engagement shoot and helped out with video during our elopement. We felt at ease and he made us feel comfortable off the bat and our engagement photos came out really nicely despite my now husband and my awkwardness behind the camera. We definitely look forward to doing more shoots with him in future. Book him! He’s awesome!

Originally from Colombia, I now call California home! At an early I began to take an interest in capturing the world as I saw it, as I followed my passion in photography it has taken me all around the world. I knew this passion was more than a hobby, so I pursued a degree in production photography and after graduating I decided that it was time for me to start fresh here in the United States. Upon moving here I immediately became captivated by helping others capture their most wonderful memories, especially during what might be one of the most important moments in their lives- their wedding!

Stephanie took photos of the food and drinks at my fresh seafood restaurant for promotional material, she was able to highlight our food and unique dine-in a way that was captivating and real.
