Danielle Bennink Photography

5.0

Glendora, CA
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,500

A true artist at heart, Danielle has spent over twenty-five years behind a camera. For over a decade she has specialized in recording couples and families in some of their most joyous moments. Utilizing both digital and film, she documents not only the major moments, but the minor moments, too, that sometimes go amiss: the grandmother gazing fondly at the new generation. The proud tearful eyes of a parent watching as their child embarks on an exciting new chapter. Big or small, with her trained eye Danielle captures every brushstroke to fully realize the memory of your special day.

You will not regret having Danielle capture your special day. She has photographed at least 2 weddings in my family - and we always trust Danielle and her photographic genius capture our most important moments.

I take on all types of creative photo shoots when I'm not shooting weddings.

Ellen did a wonderful job capturing our engagement on Catalina Island. She was very easy to work with and captured some very unique angles. We had a lot of fun working with her!

My husband and I would recommend her to anyone in SoCal who is planning on getting married, she was spectacular!

Randall de Leon Photography

5.0

Los Angeles, CA
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $2,000

Photography has always been a lifelong passion of mine, I picked up my first camera as a gift from my dad when I was 14 years old. Never in a million years would I have thought that my lifelong hobby could eventually become my career. I focused on my future, working my way through college and grad school to achieve my license to practice, but a part of me realized that I wanted to pursue a career that allowed me to go on adventures and meet a lot of new people. So in 2019, I took that risk, changed my hours from full time to part time and put more focus on my photography. I booked my first gig later that year and have never looked back.

Randall was so easy to work with from the onset of my wedding. I didn’t even have to tell him what I wanted. He knew what he was doing. For our engagement photos, he was the one who told us how to pose, because I would not have known what to do. I left it all up to him. Needless to say, our engagement and wedding photos came out beautiful! Our wedding book was amazing. He organized the pages and each one was perfect. I highly recommend Randall as the photographer for any event - engagement, wedding, family, pregnancy, graduation, etc. He definitely has a keen eye for photography. He is very professional and will respond to any questions in a timely manner.

Adam Griffin Photo

5.0

West Hollywood, CA
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $5,000

I’m Adam—a Boston native who’s now roaming around California photographing everything I see. When I’m not behind the camera you can usually find me in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, sipping a dirty martini with friends, jamming to Taylor Swift in the car, or taking my rescue pup Ollie to the park or on long neighborhood walks. I got my first film camera when I was 8, and it was love at first sight. Capturing your story is more than just a job for me. From destination elopements to parties of the century, I've seen it all and love every minute of a wedding day.

Awarded Best of Zola
I highly recommend Adam Griffin Photo! It was a pleasure working with him for our wedding pictures - he was flexible, professional, and very timely with his delivery. Most importantly he is talented and the pictures are beautiful! I’m so glad he was there to capture a special day.

We’re Andrew and Marijo (pronounced mary•joe), a husband and wife team! Our style is bright, vibrant, nostalgic with a mix of candids and cinematic images. We love getting to know our couples before their big day! It helps us create more personal work that reflects your love. We hope you know that your love is special, and that we can see that it is. And that’s always how we’ll tell your story.

Awarded Best of Zola
We worked with Marijo for our wedding this past May and she was wonderful! Our pre-wedding meeting went well, she asked a lot of questions about us as a couple and about what we wanted from our wedding photos, which we really liked because it gave us an idea about what our wedding day photography would be like, but also it showed that she is detail oriented. On the day of, she made my family as well as us really comfortable. Posing for photos can be very awkward, but she kept the mood light and made us laugh a lot which made for some really great, natural pictures. We took our couple photos at Pasadena City Hall on what must have been prom day for several high schools because the place was packed, but she managed to get us some really great, intimate shots away from other people taking photos. We really love how our pictures came out and are so excited to order some prints for ourselves and family. We highly recommend AM Badillo, and loved working with Marijo! She is sweet, friendly and very good at what she does.

If you are reading this right now, you should go ahead and book Carmen already for your big day! ;) You absolutely won't regret it!! My husband and I knew we wanted to book Carmen early on in our wedding planning process - in fact, she was the first vendor we booked. After we picked a venue, we worked with Carmen's schedule since we knew 1000% that we wanted to have her document our big day. From the beginning Carmen was super friendly and communicative with quick responses throughout the week (usually on weekends she is likely at a wedding). She was also very organized and had questionnaires to help us get to know each other better on a more personal level so we wouldn't feel like strangers on the big day. We went with one of her packages which included an engagement session (which was super fun and matched what we were envisioning - a "naturey" theme with mountains/hills in the background), a second shooter (who was super amazing!), an heirloom album (which we are currently working with her on), and more! The engagement session was extremely helpful for us because we were slightly nervous before the shoot, but the more time we spent with her, the more relaxed and at ease we felt (which is saying a lot because my husband and I are both introverts). We liked that Carmen could help us naturally pose and that her editing style was not too overly edited but allowed the natural beauty in each shot to shine. We also really appreciated Carmen's flexibility - my husband and I are both healthcare workers who have varying schedules and sometimes work weekends, but she was able to still plan our engagement session and our Zoom calls around our busy schedules. After the big day, when we look back on our wedding day, one thing that really stood out was how many of our guests were amazed with Carmen and her second shooter; the small details Carmen noticed made a lasting impression on a lot of our family members such as when Carmen and her second shooter would hold onto our guests' purses or sunglasses and make sure everyone looked essentially before taking photos. My mother-in-law couldn't stop raving about Carmen and how attentive she was to each guest. We also enjoyed all the photos of the wedding venue, each of our guests, and small moments and details that my husband and I might not have noticed since we were all over the place on the day of our wedding. At the end of the day, while all the food and drinks have been consumed, the music has been played, and the decorations and flowers have been set up and taken down, the only thing we have to reminisce on is the photography and documentation of our special day, and that's why we trusted Carmen to be our wedding photographer and would recommend her a thousand percent to all our friends and family.

I’m Mysi (pronounced, boringly, “Missy”)! I’ve been at this thing for 12 years and I keep falling more and more in love with it all. Give me intimate micro-weddings, quirky dive bar weddings, raucous South Asian weddings... my team and I absolutely thrive in chaos and emotion. My specialty is catching the moments and those tiny moments in between. ✨✨✨

Awarded Best of Zola
One of the most important parts of any special event (from weddings to fundraisers) is making sure you capture the spirit of the event. Mysi has photographed our annual Story Soirée multiple times and every time her photos have left me grinning from ear to ear. They are just so so so good! Not only are the action shots of our tellers (we are a storytelling nonprofit) wonderful, but the photos of folks reacting to our stories are my favorite. She is exceptionally skilled at capturing a range of emotions in a single photo and we have then used these photos in every marketing material imaginable. Mysi also photographed my wedding at City Hall! She got so many wonderful photos of our families crammed into the small courtroom and somehow made even the drab beige walls feel magical. It is also important for me to note that Mysi herself is an absolute dream to work with. She is communicative, punctual, and an utter delight. I sincerely cannot recommend her highly enough.

Stephen Tang Photo

5.0

Pasadena, CA
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $4,100

While some photographers emphasize their gear or trendy post-processing, I take pride in subject-photographer interaction - the relation I build with clients, picking up on nuances in pose and expression while we shoot, anticipating the viewers' response - because ultimately, that's how photographs that matter to us are created. I'm a native New Yorker who found myself relocating to Los Angeles and making it my home. Wherever you'd like to have your wedding, it would be my pleasure to be your photographer.

Awarded Best of Zola
Stephen was a delight to work with throughout our engagement and on the day of our wedding. He is a calm, cool, and professional photographer who was always supportive of our ideas and able to lend fantastic input regarding posing, setting, and album design. Stephen always had incredible and talented assistants who were able to find tremendous shots at both our engagement and wedding shoots. The quality and style of his work were exactly what we were looking for -- more candid and 'in-the-moment' than posed and portrait-y (though we certainly got plenty of family portraits too!) We would be very happy to work with Stephen again for any future photography needs.

Gabbie Burseth Photo

5.0

Santa Monica, CA
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $6,000

My name is Gabbie, and I'm a wedding photographer for the couples who seek a non-traditional approach to their big day. I'm a sucker for a candid moment, intimate ceremonies, and black-and-white images from the 1980s. My work is photojournalistic — I approach weddings through a documentary lens, telling the truth with beautiful and timeless imagery.

Awarded Best of Zola
The professionalism, raw talent, and sweet demeanor are only a few of the exquisite gifts Gabbie offers. If you are looking for a photographer who is the complete package, look no further. When selecting wedding vendors, every blog post will tell you that choosing your photographer is one of the most important (if not the most important). However, little information is provided after that tidbit, which can be daunting for an excited (albeit overwhelmed) bride who wants every detail of their wedding to be perfect. Sean, my now husband, and I had selected our venue, The 1909 in Topanga Canyon, CA., and our coordinator, Allison, with West Events LA, provided us with a list of her preferred vendors -- insert us coming across Gabbie. I remember going to her website, scrolling through her work, and being enamored with how each photo captured a different emotion and feeling. We both immediately knew that from looking at her work alone, we wanted our photos to look and feel the same. After sending an inquiry and coordinating a call, Gabbie & I spoke on the phone for close to an hour about what we had in mind for our wedding, and I remember it all clicking when Gabbie described her work as "documentary" style. Sean and I knew we didn't want a videographer for our wedding, so Gabbie's techniques and overall vision aligned perfectly with what Sean and I wanted. We also opted to do a round of engagement photos with Gabbie 5 months before our wedding, where she came into our home to take photos of us in our most comfortable and natural state (chasing our dogs around the yard) and then for a shoot at a local winery that we love to go to. Not only did we have such a fun and great experience, but we also felt so comfortable and relaxed with Gabbie. We almost forgot we were there to have our photos taken! We received the gallery back shortly after and were so thrilled. Fast-forward to our wedding, we had hired Gabbie a second shooter for 8 hours. They met us at the venue for the final getting-ready details around 1 pm and stayed through to a good portion of the dance floor, around 9 pm. They arrived promptly and were even extra helpful with Sean when getting his suit on! While those details may seem minor to some, it was that unique care and attention from both Gabbie and her second shooter that made Sean & I, and all of our guests, feel so beautiful and confident to be themselves. When Sean and I got our gallery back, we spent a solid three hours scrolling through every captured moment, laughing, crying, and squealing with excitement. I am not exaggerating when I say that seeing the captured images and how Gabbie so beautifully arranged them in the album was purely magic. Any time we go through the album, we genuinely feel transported back to that day, and there is no doubt in my mind it is because of Gabbie's pure mastery of her craft. As part of her thorough questionnaire, one of the questions was what percentage of digital-to-film prints we would like, and for ours, we chose 50:50. I'm so glad we opted for film, and I almost wish we had had more because these photos are indeed what dreams are made of. The icing on the cake, Gabbie also wrote us an adorable card after the wedding, which included 3 of the film prints. Sean & I will forever be grateful to Gabbie for her work and friendship. We love you!!
