The Captain Morse House has one of Edgartown’s largest backyards. It is almost four feet above the street grade which allows for great views down Morse St. to the harbor and west for the sunset. Photographers love our natural light at the end of the day.

With Falmouth Harbor and Vineyard Sound as your backdrop, our Harbor Lights deck offers a gorgeous location for your ceremony. Our setup includes white seating for guests and use of our arbor. Our newly renovated second-floor event space features a grand stairway entrance, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a wrap around deck overlooking Falmouth Harbor. Our space sports a marble-top bar and a sizable dance floor with space for live entertainment or a DJ. A wall of accordion glass doors opens the room to the deck, creating a seamless transition from the dance floor to the deck. Carefully designed menus provide a wide variety of dining options. Formerly known as the Edward Winslow House, The Mayflower Society House was built by Loyalist Edward Winslow, the great-grandson of Pilgrim Edward Winslow, in 1754. Throughout the 19th Century, this historic home was lived in and preserved by several influential Plymouth families and remodeled in 1898 by noted architect Joseph Chandler. The mansion holds over three centuries of history, and we would be honored for our home to be a part of yours. The manicured Mayflower Society House and Gardens offer multiple options for indoor and outdoor events or ceremonies. The large and open Solarium is perfect for parties up to 40 seated. Whether you’re planning a corporate event or an intimate catered dinner, parties of all sizes are a perfect fit. We can accommodate up to 40 guests inside The Mayflower Society House and up to 175 outside with the optional installation of a tent. Our staff will happily supply a list of our favorite local vendors.

The original Sagamore Inn was built in 1900 along the old road to Provincetown, located further east on Route 6A next to Knowlton’s Auto Salvage. It burned down in 1930. The Sandwich Independent newspaper chronicled that the town’s efforts had failed to save the Inn. The New Bedford Standard Times took the town to task for not having enough pumpers and hydrants to handle the blaze.
