Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

    5.0

    Oklahoma City, OK
    • Serves Warwick, NY

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

I used Flower Moxie for our wedding florals and cannot recommend them enough. I started the process with them in August 2022 for our December 2022 wedding. There was a consultation with a florist, Cristen, who looked at my Pinterest and asked me a lot of questions to help understand my vision, budget, and what specific elements of my inspo photos I liked. She walked me through the flowers on the website that we’d use or rule out. A couple weeks later, she sent me a full “recipe” of all the flowers with a vision board image, as well as affordable suggestions of where to get supplies and what I would need. They definitely don’t push using their supplies exclusively. I decided to make some changes, specifically adding lighter colored roses, and she made some gorgeous suggestions that I was so thrilled with. I placed my order at the end of September. The Thursday before my Sunday wedding, we picked up the flowers from the airport and prep them, which was actually staggeringly easy. On Saturday, all my bridesmaids came over for a “build your own bouquet” party, which turned out to be ridiculously fun and not difficult at all! The videos and tips on the Flower Moxie website make it foolproof, especially since I liked a wilder look. We stuck everything in vases and trimmed and wrapped them on the day of the wedding. It was so, so easy and fun! The quality and customer service were 10/10, too. I had some proteas damaged in transit, and they gave me tips on how to remove leaves to fix the look. Otherwise, the flowers were perfect, super high quality, and looked GORGEOUS. I literally just got rid of the last of them, that’s how hard and long-lasting they were. The price was super reasonable for the quantity/quality received.

    • Starts at $175
    • Serves Warwick, NY

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

I sent my photo inspirations and they were quick to respond and quick to create my vision of what I wanted. The flowers, corsages, and boutonnières looked amazing and realistic.

Ayla is an artist and an original. She will bring vision to your wedding, finding surprising ways to incorporate different florals and plants that feel incredibly fresh. Her aesthetic is simple and elevated and she created the most unique combination of interesting flowers, plants, seed pods, smoke bush, and grasses that swept us off our feet. It was unlike anything I could have imagined (or had ever seen), and it felt so complimentary to the whole vibe of the event. She arrived early to setup, was incredibly easy to work with throughout the process, and worked with us within the budget we had. She also repurposed sections of our flowers for efficiency and to reduce waste, and to boot everything was sustainably and locally grown. When I fist met with Ayla, I essentially gave her a one word brief: texture. I told her I cared a lot less about fullness, and more about using interesting textures that highlighted the unique setting we were in. I didn't want my flowers to feel like a theme, or discordant with the venue, but rather to elevate the nature that we were surrounded by. And WOW, did she deliver in spades. I still have people reaching out to me to stress how gorgeous our flowers were. I didn't have much in the way of reference (just a few photos), but chose instead to trust her to bring together a vision that she thought best highlighted the property we were getting married on. After all, she is the expert, and the true artist - if you allow her to do her thing, she will not disappoint. I expect that her calendar will be full for years to come, but if you're lucky enough to get her, lock her in. She's the absolute best.

    Farm Couture Flowers

    5.0

    Ashford, CT
    • Starts at $5,000
    • Serves Warwick, NY for additional fees

Farm Couture Flowers is the design studio at Muddy Feet Flower Farm. I grow over 100 varieties of cut flowers from April through November and incorporate them into lush garden-style arrangements and bouquets.

Where to begin? Kristin is an artist. In the age of insane wedding Pinterest boards and over-planning every detail, we gladly handed the floral design and aesthetics over to Kristin. She uses her own flowers from her farm, so she's both local and sustainable, and if you're interested in supporting a small, woman-owned business, this is the way to go. We trusted her direction and expertise and it was the best decision we could have made. When we walked into our venue on the day-of, we were both floored. It was so much better than I could have even imagined; we received so many sincere compliments from guests. Our wedding photographer said he thought they were the best wedding flowers he'd seen. The floral design was original, organic, and creative, and the greenery was gorgeous. If you choose Kristin as your florist, trust her to lead the way. It'll be better than anything you could have imagined!

    Blee's Floral Design

    5.0

    Crown Point, NY
    • Starts at $75 per arrangement
    • Serves Warwick, NY for additional fees

After beginning a career in the home interiors industry in NYC, I found myself longing for a creative outlet! I began taking a few floral design courses to keep myself sane and fell in love! After 7 years in the city, I decided it was time for a break and moved back upstate to the Adirondacks. Here I began working at my family's business, Tromblee's Greenhouse, furthering my love for flowers. As customers began to ask for floral arrangements an organic business outlet was created. Blee's is a nod to the business that grew my love for flowers, my connection to a community, and a family that welcomed me.

We met Megan at a wedding styled shoot and fell completely in love with her floral work. I reached out to her for our actual wedding and she brought our vision to life! She was very professional, creative, and easy to work with, as well as a great communicator. She and a colleague arrived promptly on our big day and really transported us to a tropical getaway with the table decor, floral arch, and my bouquet. We highly recommend working with Blee's!
