John has been helping couples plan their dream weddings for over 15 years. He has the experience to make your dreams come true and keep your guests engaged and having a blast all night. You can count on John to listen to you carefully and fulfill all of your requests, and you can lean on John for tasteful suggestions when you aren't quite sure what you want. He's always just a text, phone call or email away and provides continuous support throughout the planning process. John and his wife, Laura, live in South Jersey and are proud of their three beautiful daughters: Anna, Ava, and Antonia.

John becomes more than just an entertainment partner - our couples form deep bonds and friendships with John that last for beyond wedding day. And for John, introducing his friends of their wedding day is a special, meaningful thing.

    In our search for a wedding band, we quickly realized there are Wedding Bands that function like a business, and those that are more "mom and pop" style - and this band is the "mom and pop style." They are warm, advocate for their couples, love what they do, and aim to give you the best experience possible (without nickle and diming you). John, the sax player, is the band leader, served as our MC, and made our wedding day run flawlessly despite the weather totally interrupting all of our plans! We didn't have a wedding planner and felt we didn't need one as we were in good hands with John. He helped us design our reception timeline, worked behind the scenes with our venue to make sure food serving times aligned with their sets, and effortlessly incorporated all of our music requests. Us and our guests had an absolute blast, many guests telling us it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to. The dance floor was packed literally the entire night. The band uses medleys of similar genres/songs, so that they are not stuck on one song for too long and the music seems cohesive rather than jumping all over the place. From beginning to end, we had our friends on the dance floor as well as the older guests. Our first dance was At Last, which Marissa sang beautifully, making the moment all the more special. I cannot recommend Goody Blue Shoes enough - they know how to help you throw a party !

    As a DJ, I have worked with Goody Blue Shoes multiple times and I can tell you first hand their level of entertainment as well as their level of customer service is among the best I ever seen or worked with. From cocktail hour background music to dinner music, to rocking the reception; these guys get my vote! Whenever someone comes to me about Live entertainment I always have and always will refer Goody Blue Shoes!

    Goody Blue Shoes (GBS) is THE best wedding band. My husband Brad and I looked at a number of bands in the Philadelphia area and none was the right fit...until I met John. I was touring a local venue with my mother-in-law and GBS was warming up. I kid you not - they played two chords of a song I don't happen to like (sorry John, but it goes with the story!) and I was FLOORED. I said to my MIL "I need to get their card" and they heard me whisper from the back of the room. I called John and INSTANTLY felt comfortable with him. He answered all of my probing questions, wanted to lean more about what I was looking for in my traditional Jewish wedding and joked with me about the crazy spelling of my maiden name. We talked for a long time! I told my husband (then fiancé) we MUST to go listen to GBS play a set. Two notes into "You Are The Best Thing" and he was hooked. We spent the next year and a half working out all of the details with John and it was never only about business, it became a friendship. We talked constantly to iron out all of the details and ensure our day was exactly what we had envisioned. John made SURE of that. Our wedding was incredible and a HUGE part of that was because of John and the entire GBS crew. Our family and friends still (two months later) couldn't stop talking about how great they were. Our one friend remarked - "we went to another wedding the night before yours and it was fun, but your wedding was F-U-N, FUN, because of the band." He even got John's card! I quickly became a self-proclaimed GBS groupie and continually encourage engaged friends to hire them - fingers crossed. I also have to mention that GBS traveled from South Jersey all the way to our suburban wedding which isn't right around the corner and for a band of their talent and their size, they are EXTREMELY reasonably-priced. One of the many things I love about John is that he helped me iron out details that weren't even related to the band and offered sound advice and reminders that at the end of the day, we'd be married no matter what. He reassured me that everything would work out. We are eternally grateful to John and GBS for making our wedding the best day ever! Thank goodness we have a video to relive the day over and over again. Rachel & Brad Z.
