Owner, Pastry Chef and Barista

Owner Shauna Hinchen-Joyal studied pastry arts at Johnson and Wales University and has worked in the baking industry for over 20 years, making specialty event and wedding cakes as well as her signature pastries. Shauna and her husband and partner Bob have been trained by an expert baristas at Atomic Coffee Roasters and are proud to serve drinks brewed with their beans. All our espresso drinks are made with our gorgeous Italian made La Marzocco machine.

We are the only espresso and pastry mobile bar in Massachusetts! We bring the cafe to you so that your guests can enjoy craft coffee and pastries and you can relax and enjoy yourself. I have years of experience working with couples, to bring desserts and pastries that reflect the theme and vibe of their wedding. All of our pastries are handmade and can be as elegant as French macarons and as whimsical as a s’mores cookie. Blue Bird is inclusive and welcomes all couples!

    Blue Bird dessert and espresso bar was one of our favorite parts of our wedding! Shauna is so kind and easy to work with! The desserts were delicious!!! Our guests were all raving about how fun it was to have an espresso and biscotti to keep the dance party going strong. We’re very happy we went with this professional and well executed experience. Lots of love to Shauna and Bob!

    Blue Bird MADE our wedding weekend. With espresso martinis & negronis PLUS fabulous desserts for our welcome party, followed by 3 hours of espresso bar & brunch snacks service for our ceremony, this was the best decision we could have made. Shauna is an angel to work with, communicating regularly up until the date to ensure everything was what we envisioned. She and her husband are so kind and amazing at what they do. Everything was delicious (especially salted choco cookies and PSL!!!). They clearly have extensive expertise in what they do, and they will be an incredible addition to any event. Not to mention how adorable the actual truck is - it makes for great photo ops! Thank you Shauna & Blue Bird for being the thing that people will be talking about when reminiscing on our big weekend!

    We hired the Bluebird Mobile Dessert Bar for our special event. Shauna, the owner, is so professional and a joy to work with. From the first text to the last delicious pastry everything went smoothly. She exceeded all expectations.
