We offer your choice of beautiful outdoor ceremony locations, a newly opened barn with all the modern conveniences, and lodging for up to 43 of your closest family and friends. Beautifully appointed bride and groom suites are included for your wedding and each wedding package is for a full weekend of property access.

Bruce's Barn

The century-old, rustic Barn with a modern touch, renovated from the ground up on our 105-acre private property is the perfect place for a wedding.

Avon Hill, located in Howardsville, VA, is nestled into the Blue Ridge Mountains. Bruce’s Barn is primarily used as a reception area featuring amenities including accommodations for 150 guests, complete climate control, handicap accessibility, and more. The 2300 sq. ft. main floor serves as a wonderful reception space with room for formal dining and a dance floor. The 600 sq. ft. second floor lofts and 1,100 sq. ft. deck are a great place for photos because of their great views.

    Avon Hill was honestly the best venue we could have asked for. We only had 45 guests and the lodge housed about half of our guests which made the weekend that much more intimate. The views were absolutely amazing and the hospitality was just as great, Jocelyn was very prompt and willing to answer any and all of our questions and very accommodating to someone who added each lodge separately lol!!! The lodges had everything you could think of and Bruce's Barn was just amazing. It fit our group so perfectly and photographed so beautifully!

    I can't say enough good things about Avon Hill. The venue landscape and barn are soo beautiful on their own, our wedding required very little decor. It was important to us that our wedding party and family stay on the property. Having the lodge there made our wedding weekend that much more amazing. Jocelyn was soo amazing to work with. She was very quick to respond and answered all of my question no matter how ridiculous they were. I just can't say enough good things. This venue is amazing!

    I couldn't have asked for a better experience with a venue than working with Sarah and Jocelyn. They were very easy to communicate with, whether it was setting up our payment plan or the weekend of setting up the ceremony and reception sites, they were always easy to get ahold of and easy to work with. We rented the Lodge the weekend of my wedding as well as the bridal suite for an extra night, which ended up being the perfect accommodations.

    Words cannot begin to describe how perfect Avon Hill was for our wedding! We had both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding on site and we had family and friends stay at the Lodge. Every guest was enthralled with the beautiful views that Avon Hill offers and they loved that it was so easy to go from the reception to their lodging. Sarah and Jocelyn were so wonderful to work with, accommodating with viewing the venue prior to the wedding and coming in early on Friday, and answering my many questions as an out-of-country bride. Jocelyn and her husband were so wonderful during our wedding weekend, especially when we had an issues with the air conditioning. They immediately had someone come fix it so our guests would be comfortable. They helped with parking for our guests and Jocelyn drove my husband and I around to the various locations on the property for our photos. I cannot recommend this venue enough to anyone looking for a ceremony and reception in a gorgeous location. We wanted an outdoor ceremony, unique photos, and the barn was the perfect backdrop for our reception. Definitely check this venue out! Thank you Avon Hill!
