  • Lack of Communication Many mistakes

    The venue is STUNNING... there's no doubt about that. However, I have several gripes, including the lack of communication until the week of our wedding. I had prepared two sets of favors, one was honey and the other was a bag of treats from our pup for the pets that couldn't make it to the "pawty". The favors sign was on a table with ZERO favors. I got them at the end of the night because my coordinator was too busy to put them out- so I handed them out to neighbors and coworkers. I was told in the morning that the valet couldn't make it (which is a service that is included). Luckily, after several calls, we were able to hire another valet. We had ordered drapery and cafe lights for our reception. I was originally told the morning of my wedding that the people who decorate with those items didn't think they had enough time to complete the project so it was forfeited. Later, the second coordinator told us that we had never paid for the service for the drapes and cafe lights. I pulled up 4 email communications about the drapes and lights- and also asked to include it on my Zoom call with my coordinator. The second coordinator who showed up after the ceremony ( I never even got her name) was absent for 85% of the reception. No one could find her, including her coworkers at the venue and venue security. Ultimately, venue security helped us pack up our items, pack our cars, and congratulate us at the end of the night. The coordinator was NO WHERE TO BE FOUND. The only time I saw her was when she told me we were responsible for the floral cleanup and if we didn't take all of the flowers home, we would face a financial penalty. We asked if we could use the venue dumpster and the answer was a firm no. We asked for help carrying them to cars (cars that we recruited family members to transport the flowers to donate or toss) and she said no to that as well. Security ended up helping us carry them. I hadn't seen the coordinator for the rest of the evening. As a matter of fact, that was the second time I had seen her that night. With that being said, our photographer became our coordinator and went above and beyond to streamline our reception. Security was absolutely phenomenal. My husband and I had the perfect wedding day. We brushed these things off because we wanted to be in our newlywed bliss. I would do my wedding as it was again BUT I would never recommend Bavaria Downs to anyone.
