About this venue

The Westin Poinsett Hotel was built in 1924. After the Great Depression, it started to get a lot of traction from local residents and quickly became known as “Carolina’s Finest.” It was purchased in 1997 and the extensive renovation process began, transforming it to the same flamboyant hotel that hosted guests such as Amelia Earhart and Bobby Kennedy. The Westin Poinsett boasts eight event rooms with a total of 9,669 square feet of event space, with the largest room holding up to 350 people reception style. It comes with two historic ballrooms as well as spacious meeting spaces utilized for Getting Ready on the Wedding Day. With elegant yet neutral décor, the spaces provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos and celebration.

The Westin Poinsett was an absolute dream for our wedding. Everyone who helped us was easy to work with, acted professionally, and went above and beyond to make our day perfect. In addition, the Westin Poinsett was gorgeous and was a great choice as it gave easy access to downtown, was a great place for guests to stay, and provided two beautiful areas for the ceremony and reception. Our wedding was the best day, and we cannot thank the Westin Poinsett and the staff enough!

What a wise decision we made to have our wedding rehearsal dinner at the Westin Poinsett Hotel. The appetizers were delicious, plated meal was cooked perfectly and the desserts were the perfect treat to end the meal. All of the staff who worked the event were attentive and made us feel at home. We highly recommend the Westin Poinsett for any kind of event. We will never forget it.

From the time of booking, you are guaranteeing that we will no longer quote or look to contract another wedding or event in your desired space. With such a high demand of weddings and the booking timeframe of weddings once your wedding is booked we expect the amount you are guaranteeing. If you make the personal decision to cancel you will owe 100% of the anticipated revenue.

Our building is located 13.5 miles away from Greenville Spartanburg Airport. You can reach our hotel by public transportation, private car or airport shuttle. Guests must call the hotel directly (864-421-9700) to schedule shuttle service.
