After working at a local flower shop for a little over 4 years, I came to the conclusion that by far my favorite part of being a florist was working with brides to make their day special, beautiful and fresh! So I made the decision to go in to business for myself and I love the creativity and flexibility this has given me and enabled me to offer to my clients. Hi there, I'm so happy you're here! First off, I'm Kj, which stands for Kayla Jo. I'm just a small town, farm girl that loves spreading joy through flowers. I'm a lover of all things agriculture, Purdue, German Shepard's, ice cream and, most importantly, my family.

Wood & Word Blooms is run by a Jen Angle, former teacher of 20+ years and specializes in using hand-painted wood flowers along with a faux, dried and preserved florals (nothing fresh here) to bring your wedding vision to life not just for that one glorious day but forever. Besides designing for you, I also offer DIY Wood Flower Experiences to create your wedding florals alongside me in person or virtually and 1:1 sessions to help DIY brides learn to do it themselves.

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Hi, I'm Laura! I’m inspired by the colorful beauty of nature, and I’m passionate about sharing that beauty with others. I love to create lush, vibrant floral bouquets that reflect my client's unique personality and style (e.g. chic, rustic, romantic, fantasy, gothic, etc.). I love eating good food, changing my hair color, haunting thrift stores, playing board games, attempting yoga poses, knitting, and snuggling with my two spunky rescue pups.

Michelle started her career as a lawyer, but could not resist the pull of her family’s legacy—flowers! A third-generation florist, some of her earliest childhood memories include processing flowers at her grandmother’s shop in northern Indiana. She grew her love of flowers working along side her mom in creating amazing wedding florals for couples all over Indiana. Ask her and she will tell you that she was trained by the best! She brings her passion and years of experience in this art to the Owner/Creative Director role for One of a Kind Events.
