I believe photography is a snapshot of life, where a feeling is captured and magically stored in a timeless memory, a memory that can bring you back to that same instant, the excitement of a moment and cherish the tangible feeling of a photograph. I was born in Ecuador where I spent my childhood surrounded by the unconditional love of my abuelita, she now resides in heaven. I was always independent and silly in front of a camera. I wasn’t too much into playing with a camera and preferred to play in the garden, running around, catching butterflies and always excited to find a ladybug, aren’t they so pretty?

I have a very photojournalistic approach to a wedding day — I want to capture all of the beautiful, loving, silly and fun moments as they unfold with warmth and honesty. When it comes to portraits, I love to get more editorial and incorporate bits of what makes you, you (as a couple) with the surrounding light, nature and architecture. Most importantly, when you look back at your photos I want you to remember how it felt.

I moved to New York City in 2000 after graduating from the University of California Santa Cruz with a degree in art and a concentration in photography. I started photographing weddings in New York City in 2002. In 2006 Bob Moyers, (my then finance-now husband) started photographing weddings with me, and we have been shooting together ever since! My background in fine art photography and Bob’s background in commercial photography blend seamlessly to produce a wholly unique interpretation of each wedding we photograph.

I love capturing authentic moments in people’s lives and telling the story behind each image. I believe a photographer must be sincere in order to capture the true nature of her subjects. That’s why I strive to be not only innovative and creative, but also genuine, so my clients can feel comfortable being themselves during their sessions.
