Our private events chef prepares your custom menu featuring seasonal ingredients, on our wood-fired oven and grill. We can customize bar packages with specialty cocktails using ingredients from our garden. We can also provide vendor recommendations and coordination support to help bring your vision to life. With 5,000+ sq ft of living and event space as well as 1/3 acre of gardens, The Mazant is a historic mansion located in the heart of New Orleans' Bywater arts district - and about 1.5 miles from the French Quarter (30 minutes walking or 8 minutes by Uber). We are close to Bacchanal, The Joint, The Country Club, Elizabeth's, and The Music Box. It's perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, company off-sites, and other large groups.

GW Fins is pleased to offer the world’s finest seafood, wine, and service in a unique atmosphere of contemporary design blended with welcoming Southern charm. Whether you are hosting a rehearsal dinner, bridal luncheon, or welcome party, we will tailor the menu to complement your occasion and ensure that your event is a personal and memorable dining experience. Our Private Dining Room can seat up to 30 people comfortably and has a maximum capacity of 32 people. For your convenience, the room is equipped with a 52” flat-screen television, as well as Wi-Fi and teleconferencing capabilities. GW Fins can also accommodate up to 200 people for a sit-down dinner and as many as 275 for a cocktail reception in our Main Dining Room. Although we are normally not open for lunch, we are more than happy to accommodate groups of 40 or more for a private lunch. Please note that our capacity is subject to change during these times as we comply with city and state COVID restrictions.

The NOCCA Foundation is the nonprofit that supports the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, which is Louisiana's arts conservatory for high school students. Our venues are located in one of New Orleans' oldest neighborhoods, the Faubourg Marigny, just upriver from the Bywater. Our buildings date from the early 1800s and have been beautifully restored with modern amenities. Funds from rentals help support a range of programs for students, faculty, and the community, including an Artists-in-Residence program that brings up to 100 visiting artists into NOCCA's classrooms each year; professional development funds for NOCCA faculty; and a series of concerts, gallery exhibitions, readings, and classes for the community.

Laurenia is housed inside the Pythian Temple which has a history of remarkable local significance. Smith Wendell (S.W.) Green, then one of the most prominent African-American businessmen in New Orleans, commissioned the construction of the Pythian Temple in 1908. The Pythian immediately played an integral part in New Orleans early civil rights movement. It towered over the surrounding neighborhood and became a center of the African American community. Since its inception, The Pythian Temple hosted popular performing groups and African-American carnival balls. The venue led to the formation of the Zulu Parading Club and even housed a popular rooftop bar known as “Piron’s Garden of Joy.” It is said that a young Louis Armstrong first played at The Pythian Temple. Laurenia is named after Smith Wendell (S.W.) Green’s wife. She assisted him in running his business, was a member of the NAACP, and was active in the early struggle for civil rights.
