My name is Rachel and I am the lead floral designer of Velvet Blooms. After studying music with an emphasis in vocals, I began to rethink what my creative path would be. With mentors such as Laura Williams of Poppy Hill Flowers and good friend Kelsea Olivia Gaynor of East Olivia, I began my journey into floral design and never looked back!

We focus on naturalistic and organic inspired floral art. During the consultation process, we discuss your vision and give design suggestions if needed. It takes a load off your shoulders to know someone is going to completely capture the vibe of your event with flowers!

Close friends for years, Kimberly Evans and Morgan Honings started working together in 2014 on select projects, photoshoots and large scale weddings. Their shared fondness for moody florals and ethereal blooms made them instantly click, both in and out of the design studio. Together they bring a fun, fresh and exciting new look to the Napa Valley.

After graduating with a Visual Design degree from FIT in New York City, I moved back to the Bay Area and decided to continue to pursue my passion for florals and romance. Now seven full wedding seasons in, I can call myself an artisan floral designer known for wild, raw and natural arrangements. Our aesthetic incorporates rare and unique ingredients; from wild fruits and vines, unique, fragrant, antique roses and other premium blooms. I truly believe beautiful lush flowers are what make a party, a wedding!

Her journey started at the age of six years old, Melissa-May was surrounded by all aspects of creativity. Her ability to visualize things, put them onto paper and create anything from scratch was also apparent at a young age when she completed an illustration of her dream house, then constructed an entire floor plan and a model house made out of popsicle sticks. Furthermore, at the age of 12, her friend’s mother noticed Melissa-May’s gift of artistry and requested that she create cartoon place cards for her daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. She later was asked to create the invitations and centerpieces for her best friend’s Debutant ball.

My career has morphed into something more than just floral design. I am an art director, a flower fairy godmother, and a wedding therapist. My skills now include extracting information and interpreting that vision into tangible design elements that shape an entire event. That's why I say, “At Lavenders, it's more than just flowers”. Nicole Gilbride is a floral designer and sustainably focused flower grower at Beholden Blooms in Woodford County, KY. She has been designing weddings, events, and specialty arrangements for family and friends for many years, and took the plunge in 2020 to establish her own floral business. Beholden Blooms provides a personalized flower experience that leverages locally grown and finely sourced blooms from across the US and the globe to provide exquisite designs that elevate her clients’ weddings and events. She primarily services clients in Kentucky, but also provides travel services.
