What's Poppin, a Chicago-style popcorn company, is based locally out of Albany, NY. We make all of our popcorn on premises by hand, by real life popcorn enthusiasts. Enjoy our traditional flavors like Moo-Vee Butter or our signature Albany Mix (cheddar and caramel) or take it up a notch with Deathwish Coffee Mocha. We do it all.

Hi! My name is Ashley Schwartz and I am the owner and baker here at Torta! I enjoyed baking when I was little, especially the times when my family would bake Christmas cookies together, but it wasn't until high school when I took a cake decorating class at Micheal's with my mom and sister that I discovered baking as an art form and truly fell in love. During my senior year, I decided to pursue baking as a career. While I loved working for local businesses, I wanted to be able to connect my baking back to my roots and began to experiment with my own recipes from my childhood. I started selling my baked goods to friends and family.

I was 8 when my mother signed me up for a cake decorating class. It was a life-changing experience. I knew what I wanted to be! Determined to attend the Culinary Institute of America, I convinced restauranteurs in the Rochester, NY, area to give me a chance and started baking "professionally" at 15. Five years later I did it! I graduated from the Culinary Institute of America as a pastry chef. In 1999, Gourmet Goodies was established in Victor, NY. Over the past 20 years I have had the privilege of providing wedding cakes and gourmet pastries to the upstate and western New York area.

With passion and love for food and creativity, our specialty bake shop would be honored to create a cake designed especially for you. Our team of professionals, directed by Executive Pastry Chef Michael Walsh, will turn your imagination into an edible masterpiece. My name is Rachael Rapoza and I am the founder and one woman behind my business Roc'n Cakes. I started Roc'n Cakes in April of 2020 when the pandemic was underway and I was out of work in the restaurant industry.
