I shot my first wedding in 2004, and from that moment on, I was hooked! It's an honor to witness and capture such an important moment in the lives of my couples. Before specializing in weddings, I focused on fine art and night photography. I earned a BFA degree in studio art from the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!), and a MFA degree in imaging arts/photography from Rochester Institute of Technology. I taught black and white, digital, alternative process and studio photography at the high school, university and adult education levels. I love both the planned events and the unintentional, quiet moments that make a wedding unique!

It's important to me that each of my clients want to share my vision for the art I will be creating for them. I'm a wedding & lifestyle photographer who loves fashion, music, coffee, and dancing. I'm astrong determined women trying to make a living at her passion and conquer a few dreams here and there.

I'm Megan, a fine art wedding photographer serving New England & the Pacific Northwest. I've been photographing weddings since 2015, and I still tear up during just about every wedding ceremony. When I'm not behind the camera, I'm running after my one year old daughter, renovating our 1932 colonial home, and adding to my continually growing collection of cookbooks.

Self-taught and fueled by the fun of weddings I know I am doing exactly what I was meant to do. I feel most alive when I'm capturing a wedding. From orchestrating the flow of the day and getting through formals to getting out there on the dance floor for all the candids, there's a magic at weddings and it is amazing. Being able to capture that for you so you have it to cherish for the rest of your life is really my passion.

It's an incredible privilege and honor to be trusted with your memories. It's something I do not take lightly. Capture the North was founded by multi-award-winning, and published photographer Sarah K. Marshall, and her husband, Christopher Marshall. Both are Marine Corps veterans and native New Englanders. Despite traveling across the world while serving in the Marine Corps, there is still something so magical about the New England area for them. Sarah was named Department of Defense Military Photographer of the Year 2020, and Marine Corps Photographer of the Year 2020 + 2021. Her work has been displayed in the National Museum of the Marine Corps and her imagery was the cover art of Leatherneck Magazine.
