Spenser made this whole day so easy! I was on the fence about having a DJ for our very casual lunchtime wedding reception but once I started working with Spike events I knew we’d made the right decision. He perfectly captured the feel of what we were going for, from the cocktail hour, to the meal, to the actual dance floor. Everybody was dancing but anybody who wasn’t was still enjoying the music! Everything was perfect! Highly recommend

Murray Hill Talent

5.0

Malden, MA
  • DJ
  • Starts at $1,000

Whether you’re looking for a band, DJ, photo booth, ceremony or cocktail musicians, or uplighting for your wedding in Boston, Cape Cod, Newport, RI, or anywhere else in New England, we’ve got you covered. We’ve been doing this for over 20 years, and our bands and DJs have rocked thousands of weddings and parties, so we have the experience of seeing every scenario imaginable. But we also realize that every wedding is different, and that’s why our bands and DJs never take a ‘cookie cutter’ approach.

Tom and David were THE BEST!!!! Tom Pendergast played the guitar for our ceremony and cocktail hour and not only could he play all the songs I was looking for during the ceremony (Lover by Taylor Swift was PERFECT), but he also absolutely rocked the garden party wedding theme during the cocktail hour with his covers. All of our guests said he was amazing! David Landeta was our DJ for our reception and he CRUSHED it! He spent so much time leading up to the big day working with me on having the perfect music for dancing, for days after the event our friends were texting us saying how great he was!

Redline

5.0

Malden, MA
  • Musician

We can all agree that there’s something special about a live band that plays all your favorite songs. That’s Redline. We are that perfectly classic, polished, professional band that is also young, fresh, hip, with an energetic vibe that makes you want to stop the clock and dance all night! That’s Redline.

If you’re thinking about booking Redline for your wedding or, honestly, for any other event, just do it. You don’t need to keep reading; book them. If you need some more convincing, read on. In late 2021 my fiancé and I were looking for a band to play our wedding in December, 2022. Having a great, fun band was crucial to us. We came across Redline both via Instagram and via the Murray Hill talent website and we had a good feeling about them. We reached out via Murray Hill and immediately heard back from Ken. Ken was incredibly friendly in his response and sent over detail on Redline along with other bands that could potentially play for us in case we weren’t locked in on Redline. He also sent along the information for add-ons, including but not limited to uplighting, photo booths, and additional band members (you have to at least consider having someone walking around ripping the saxophone). We ended up booking Redline and the process was totally seamless; again, Ken was super helpful the whole time. We booked the cocktail duo, an 8-piece band including saxophone for the reception, and uplighting. Easy! Throughout the year, Ken was always available to field questions and would offer to have a call if it would be easier. When you’re in the middle of every other aspect of wedding planning, having someone like Ken who is organized, kind, and thoughtful makes things a LOT easier, especially if the band is important to you. All right, let’s fast forward to wedding week. We had sent over a worksheet to Ken earlier with a general outline of the night. Entrance songs, first dance song, etc. along with whether there would be a bouquet toss, cake cutting, etc. It was very detailed which will actually help you visualize how the reception will go. We walked through this with Ken step by step and worked with him to adjust accordingly. Again, with the wedding looming, this was actually a calming experience because of the confidence we had in Ken. The day of the wedding, I didn’t see Ken and the other band members until the cocktail hour because, well, you know, I was getting married. The cocktail hour duo was incredible. They set such a good vibe for the rest of the night and played a cool mix of songs. Compliments were already flowing from the guests. After the cocktail hour, Ken came to where the wedding party was getting ready for intros while guests filed into the ballroom. This was another instance of what you’re getting with Ken and the Redline crew; he worked with the wedding coordinator to get us lined up and ready, get us pumped up, and get us moving. Reception time. From the first dance I had with my now wife, to the last dance of the night (Tiny Dancer- Elton John. Yes, you were curious and yes, it was awesome) everything was perfect. The band was SO good and SO energetic. The mix of songs they played was incredible and this was a wedding where the dance floor was PACKED THE WHOLE TIME with people dancing. It was SO much fun and we still have guests complimenting how great Redline was. Following the wedding weekend, Ken reached out to us with a personalized and heartfelt note about how good of a time the band had and our overall experience together planning over the course of the year. It was just the cherry on top to what was such a wonderful experience. In summary, book Redline, just please don’t book them on the same date as whatever next big event comes my way because I want them to be there to party.

PK And The Mighty Seven

5.0

Medford, MA
  • Band or Ensemble

PK and the Mighty Seven has been celebrating with newly married couples since 2016! We were originally formed as a Jamiroquai tribute band, playing mostly music by the famed UK group along with other songs we enjoyed. Since that time, we've expanded our song list and played many weddings, which we love to do!

Awarded Best of Zola
PK and the Mighty Seven could not have delivered a better performance for our wedding. My husband and I met after a concert so music was one of the most important choices to be made when planning our wedding. The fact PK offers a horn section was a huge selling point to us. The band representative, Matt, who is also their drummer, was always forthcoming and prompt to answer emails. The amount of people on our wedding night asking where we found the band and looking out to see no butts in chairs made us realize we had made an excellent choice in using PKM7 as our wedding band!

Shelley Otis, Harpist

5.0

Stoneham, MA
  • Solo performer
  • Starts at $350

Shelley is a multi-award winning harpist based in the Boston area. Her musical style ranges from elegant classics to lively covers of pop songs. Couples can choose from a variety of genres including popular, classical, jazz, and various world traditions, and they are welcome to request additional songs that aren’t on her list. Finding just the right music for every couple is her top priority.

Awarded Best of Zola
We hired Shelley for pre-ceremony and ceremony music for our November 2022 wedding. Shelley was extremely responsive to all of our communication. Her set list is extensive and she was even willing to learn some new songs if we had any requests. We found her set list was so extensive we did not need to make any custom requests in order to have music that we felt represented our personalities and wedding. Shelley is an incredibly talented harpist - the music she played was just captivating. We got so many compliments from guests who really felt like they got a show before our ceremony instead of just sitting there waiting for things to start. Shelley provided her own sound system which work flawlessly. She was clear up front around parameters with weather conditions and was happy to accommodate an outdoor ceremony in November. One of our favorite moments from our wedding as actually before the ceremony going outside to take some photos and listening to Shelley warm up. She is just fabulous - highly recommended! Thank you, Shelley!

Crossroad Band

5.0

Weston, MA
  • Band or Ensemble
  • Starts at $2,500

CrossRoad plays a diverse mix of over 85 Classic soft rock from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s (Fleetwood Mac, REM, Tom Petty, Amy Winehouse, Gin Blossoms, Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood, The Cure, Green Day, The Killers.) along with current and timeless country rock favorites (Luke Combs, Dolly Parton, Little Big Town, Neil Diamond, John Denver, etc.) The band always delivers a great sing-along and dancing experience.

We had an excellent experience with Crossroads Band! They were on time (early to set up and practice a few songs). They were not too loud so that guests could mingle and talk but also later played music that got everyone out on the dance floor I would highly recommend them, Everyone had a great time!

DeeJay Tom

5.0

Billerica, MA
  • DJ
  • Starts at $1,000

Customer service to my clients is #1 to me – the wedding is not about me, it’s about you, your friends and your family. Once I understand what you envision at your wedding, I’ll use my 20+ years of experience to make sure everyone has a great and unforgettable time. I become very much involved in the timing and management of the evening from the moment you book me.

We decided on a DJ instead of a band for a few practical reasons. It's cheaper, there's more variety in what he/she can play and therefore can appeal to a broader audience, and most importantly for us, a DJ takes up less space than a band. We thought about foregoing a professional altogether and just doing the iPod thing, but I was afraid that it would stress me out. For anyone else who has done the DJ search, there is LOT of cheese out there! I received a packet from this one guy with all kinds of crazy rainbow colors and smiley faces and frankly, his voice on the phone scared me. We wanted a low-key DJ, not a show-boat. Tom was perfect. He totally delivered! He wore a tux and looked great. Call me shallow but that's important - the DJ is in the background of quite a few of the photos. He was professional and knew what to play to make everyone happy. He also played all of the songs we asked him to, which is not always a given. The reception was non-stop dancing all night. We had a blast!

The 1999

5.0

Reading, MA
  • Musician

Hello! We are The 1999 -- an energetic band with an unforgettable lead female vocalist, two dueling male vocals, and powerful rhythm section that dishes out songs spanning multiple decades and genres. In addition to our rocking band, we're come all-inclusive with a DJ/MC who serves Ceremony, Cocktail and Dinner; a professional concert-quality sound system; and stage & dance floor lighting. In addition to being the band of choice for many couples, you've probably seen us at clubs, charity events and corporate parties all over New England. Are you ready to transform your event into an epic party?

Awarded Best of Zola
We couldn't recommend The 1999 enough!! We first saw them at the Thirsty Moose bar in New Hampshire. That night, we had such a good time that we decided we wanted them as our wedding band over the other more traditional soul/r&b band we had in mind. They were able to play a lot of modern rock and pop favorites for us and our friends but also throw in a few classics for our parents and older guests. They even let us help decided the final set list to ensure a wide variety of songs. Working with them was such a breeze as Rob and Alex are so incredible detailed-obsessed -- we didn't have to worry about a thing because they gave us the confidence going into our wedding that they had it under control from pre-planning to end of night. We couldn't have asked for a better band and we are now happy to call them friends for life! Such great people, amazing professionals and talented musicians.
