Whether a wedding ceremony or the events leading up to the big day, Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is an ideal setting. In this 13,000-acre preserve, visitors will find a gentle, pristine wilderness that dates back more than 500 years. A 2.25 mile boardwalk meanders through pine flatwoods, wet prairie, around a marsh and finally into the largest old growth Bald Cypress forest in North America. These impressive trees tower 130 feet into the sky and have a girth of 25 feet. The forest is also home to alligators, otters, white-tailed deer, red-bellied turtles and a wide variety of wading birds, songbirds, raptors, etc. Photo opportunities are available at every turn! RATES + INFO Friday + Saturday 6:00PM - 10:00PM - $3,875 Sunday 6:00PM - 10:00PM - $3,250 Monday - Thursday - $525/hr. Events may begin at 6:00PM and must end by 10:00PM (Sunday-Thursday) 0r 10:30PM on Fridays and Saturdays. If your event will be taking place on a Friday or Saturday, and you would like to arrange a 10:30PM end time ceremony, we would recommend that you have the ceremony at a seperate location (Ft.Zacahry Taylor, and the Key West Lighthouse are wonderful options) and then begin your event at the Hemingway Home with the cocktail hour or reception. WEDDING DAY MANAGEMENT As mentioned above, we do require that a wedding planner is chosen from our preferred vendors list. We do offer an in-house wedding day management service that can be added to your rental agreement. The classic North Hall Ballroom was built in 1935 and has the maximum capacity of 240 guests for a sit down dinner and 200 guests for a buffet style. Amenities include limousine entrance as well as a romantic and cozy atmosphere. Beautiful chandeliers illuminate the room. High ceilings. Kitchen and bar area. This ballroom can be rented in conjunction with the South Hall Ballroom right next door. This would allow you to hold your ceremony in one ballroom and your reception in the other. The elegant South Hall Ballroom was also built in 1935, and was the original library for the City of Coral Gables. There is a maximum capacity of 200 guests for a sit down dinner and 170 guests for a buffet style meal. Amenities include all wood floors, kitchen and bar area. Antique looking exquisite decor with rustic chandeliers, high ceiling, limestone walls and two fireplaces which add a renaissance touch to this unique and comfortable setting.
