We are a completely family-owned and operated business. Corey, our DJ, started the company in 1995 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI with two walkmans and a Radio Shack mixing board. In 1996 we expanded to offer karaoke and the sound system grew. We continued to grow our business by adding a photo booth and uplighting. Motor City HDJ started in 1999 as a way to pay for college. The more of my friends' weddings I attended, the more I realized how many bad DJs are out there in the world. I decided at that point I was going to be the "anti-DJ," committing myself to do the opposite of the things that bad DJs do.

Gussied is a full service wedding band that offers ceremony, cocktail, dinner, dancing music, and more. Instead of trying to duplicate a song you've heard on the radio, we "gussy it up" into our own bluegrass inspired own style. We play farms, barns, wineries, swanky lofts, country clubs and everything in between - even summer camps! We also play destination weddings, festivals and private events. No party is too small or too big. We have a professional sound team and various music packages to suit all of your needs.

Bassist and bandleader Josh Levine got his start in the professional music business busking in SoHo with The Flying Neutrinos in ’93, so when NYC shut down in Spring of 2020, he capitalized on his experience as a street performer and began to play regularly in the parks of NYC with percussionist and sonero, Jainardo Batista, renowned flutist Itai Kriss making his debut on Cuban trés guitar, and María Raquel on vocals and minor percussion. Before long, the quartet had generated some buzz, several venues hired them to play outdoors and pianist Gabriel Chakarji and Grammy winning flutist and vocalist Jeremy Bosch became staples of the group.
