We are a completely family-owned and operated business. Corey, our DJ, started the company in 1995 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI with two walkmans and a Radio Shack mixing board. In 1996 we expanded to offer karaoke and the sound system grew. We continued to grow our business by adding a photo booth and uplighting. Today our music collection has expanded to thousands of songs and is still growing daily. All of our equipment has been upgraded and we use state of art LED lighting. We currently have 1 male vocalist and 2 female vocals. We do have the ability to add instruments and vocals upon client request. All of our musicians are experienced, professional, and seasoned. Trained at Dubspot School of Electronic Music in New York City, Davis Mallory's DJ style is influenced by his childhood in Atlanta, Georgia, time exploring the music scenes of Chicago, Europe and New York, Los Angeles and Music City: Nashville, Tennessee. Davis has performed at countless weddings, nightclubs and fundraisers with some career highlights including: the Denver Nuggets Halftime Show, opening for Eurovision winner Netta in Stockholm, Country Music Fest 2014, Amsterdam's Club NYX and MadFox, the Anheuser-Busch Awards opening for James Corden and KC & the Sunshine Band, and Vanderbilt Homecoming playing with Aaron Carter.

I love playing for weddings, and working with couples to customize the soundtrack for their ceremony! I have played for over 800 weddings, for guest lists from 3 to 2000, and across four continents. Specializing in music you don't expect to hear on the harp, couples can choose jazz, popular, Bollywood, Arabic, Broadway, and classical music for their weddings.

Motor City HDJ started in 1999 as a way to pay for college. The more of my friends' weddings I attended, the more I realized how many bad DJs are out there in the world. I decided at that point I was going to be the "anti-DJ," committing myself to do the opposite of the things that bad DJs do.
