The Brooklyn Beats is the inaugural event/wedding band founded by music industry veteran, Jon Shiffman. Jon is best known for his live work as a drummer for Grammy winner Jack Antonoff in the bands Steel Train and Bleachers. He has toured all over the world and his drumming can be heard on various National TV Commercials, and is featured in the 2024 release of Paramount Pictures’ Mean Girls movie. The first party I ever did as a DJ was a wedding. I was only 12 years old at the time and was nothing more than just a helper to someone who had the experience I was seeking. Over the years I improved, made some big equipment & office investments, linked up with the right team, and accomplished my childhood dream to make my DJ passion a full time career that now supports my wife & 2 baby girls.

I studied with a principal cellist of the Rochester Philharmonic. I am well versed in music other than classical, and am well versed in many different styles. I also take the time to talk to guests, friends, and whoever else is enjoying the music on the occasion.
