My creative journey began when I spent a decade touring the country with my indie rock band, The Booda Velvets. While on tour I was always taking photos with my dad’s old Pentax film camera and a Polaroid SX70. During this time, my passion for documentary style photography was born and after touring I traded the guitar for the camera and haven’t looked back.

I am a native New Yorker and have built a career over the past 26 years as a wedding and special event makeup artist. My first job as a makeup artist with the Laura Geller Makeup Studio catapulted my career. Under Laura’s extensive training and mentoring, I ascended the ranks to become one of her most-requested makeup artists for studio clientele, makeup lessons, weddings, and special events. In 2003 I formed my own makeup business, Anabelle LaGuardia Makeup Artistry to provide reliable on-location makeup concierge services to brides and clients in NYC, the Tri-State area, and destinations beyond.

I’m a destination wedding photographer who loves to travel, take photos, drink, and eat… I know, you’ve probably never heard of ANYONE else with those likes. Haha! What can I say – I’m basic. ;). I’ve always had a love and fascination with movies, tv shows, Vanity Fair magazines, and looking at the history and style from the Mad Men era. They have something so timeless and yet meaningful about them?! Both their posed and candid moments – I DIE! My name is Chief and I'm the founder of Chief the Creator. This business came about from my passion for shooting and capturing stunning imagery. I started out with photography but soon found a stronger passion for videography. I love creating cinematic videos and being able to capture all of the most important moments of your big day and turning them into a beautiful, telling love story.
