Arch Street Meeting House

5.0

Philadelphia, PA
  • Up to 300 guests
  • Limited services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $2,000

Arch Street Meeting House is a historic wedding venue located in Old City Philadelphia. The land on which Arch Street Meeting House stands was officially deeded to the Quakers in 1701 and used as a burial ground until 1872. The building was constructed in stages from 1803-1811 when need arose of a larger Meeting House in Philadelphia. The site is still an active place of worship in addition to being used as an educational museum space, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2011. It is frequently rented for conferences, weddings, dinners, and graduations. The building sits on just shy of 2 acres, and our grounds include both grassy & brick spaces and lots of mature trees. The entire site exudes an overall historic charm.

As a Wedding Coordinator, Arch Street Meeting House and their staff were a dream to work with. Before the wedding, they were responsive in emails and were able to accommodate site visits and walkthroughs easily. There is plenty of space for guests to comfortably enjoy the grounds, the museum, and the Meeting House, and also for the wedding party to have private space to spread out and relax. Having off street parking is a huge bonus, and the Wyndham Hotel directly across the street was incredibly convenient. The space is beautiful in it's simplicity; the photos were stunning. Arch Street Meeting House is historic and well maintained with a knowledgeable and friendly staff... we highly recommend!

Absolutely fell in love with the Morris Arboretum the first time we viewed it as a possible wedding venue in February. There were no beautiful f flowers bloomed and the trees had lost their leaves BUT it was still perfect and stunning. The day of our wedding as we drove up to the venue I started to cry bc it was so much more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Not only is it perfect scenic view but the crew omg even better, they have your back, they make it look effortless, it’s just the perfect most magical place.

The building was designed by the Philadelphia Architectural firm Ritter and Shay. Headquarters is the setting for Philadelphia Stated Meetings, the meetings of the Board of Managers and its Committees, and for the Society's Annual meeting. The archives of the Society, including lineage papers of our members, both living and deceased, are housed here as well. Headquarters is also available to the general public to rent for weddings and events.

The PERFECT venue for a beautiful Philadelphia wedding combining amazing lush gardens with all of the historic charm that Philly has to offer. This was a venue that needed ZERO added decor. It was perfectly beautiful AS-IS (which was really important to us) and it could not have been more ideal. Adriana was incredible from the start. She was accommodating and helpful. She was there for us any time we needed anything. She gave us access to the venue throughout the entire week and coordinated directly with my vendors and friends who were dropping off everything from flowers to desserts and alcohol. She kept our things safe for a load-out/pickup two days later so that we didn’t have to cut time short with our friends and family and we were able to just enjoy the weekend and get everything wrapped up on Monday. We could not have been happier with how our wedding turned out and we are so thankful to Adriana and Kenny for taking such good care of us!!

With towering columns, radiant skylights, and a grand staircase framing an iconic art deco waterfall, stepping into the historic Curtis Atrium is like entering an era when elegance was natural and luxury was standard. Today the 100-year-old structure hosts downtown Philadelphia’s most timeless weddings, from the airy 12-story chamber where couples recite their vows to the well-appointed wedding suite tucked away in the spacious, delicately detailed cocktail hour mezzanine. When it comes time to dance and dine, custom draperies and lighting transform the atrium to an intimate ballroom — and a canvas for decor both tastefully simple or ornately embellished. A full on-site kitchen, newly installed by Constellation, ensures a fresh, delicious culinary experience for guests at very morsel.

I highly recommend the Curtis Atrium if you want to have a grand and luxurious wedding experience. The entire building is stunning, and the food by Constellation Culinary was excellent! The staff was friendly and easy to work with; they also went above and beyond to find accommodations for special requests. All of our wedding guests RAVED about the food and the venue. I can't thank the Constellation team enough for making my night so special.

Stokesay Castle

4.8

Reading, PA
  • Up to 350 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Indoor & outdoor

Whether you're going out for dinner or saying "I do", our castle is the perfect place for you. Built in 1931 and inspired by a 13th century English castle by the same name, Stokesay Castle was once the vacation home of the Hiester Family. Mr. Hiester spared no expense when it came to the 10 acre property he built for his fiancé. Local building materials and craftsmen were used, and great care was exercised in duplicating hand-carved beams, and leaded windows. Our owner, Jack Gulati had fond memories of Stokesay Castle and rescued it in March of 2009, from almost certain deprecation. Mr. Gulati dedicated millions to the restoration of the Castle, Ballroom and surrounding grounds. Upgrading much of the plumbing, electric and other amenities have left Stokesay in a memorable, yet modernized state. The vaulted cathedral ceilings still loom over the Lord’s Dining Room, only now there is a view into Stokesay Castle’s newest addition, The Knight’s Pub.
