Why do I take photos? Well I’m glad you asked! When I was a teenager I was thrown from one of my horses and lost my long term memory. Thankfully my father was into photography and I notice that looking back at family photos helped to trigger my memory! With the fear of hitting my head and potentially loosing my memory again, I started taking photography classes and was obsessive about taking photos. Whenever I take photos for a client I remember how important it was to my recovery to have images of my life.

Being diagnosed with Lupus at 16, I had to give up my ultimate goal of being a pilot in the Air Force. Because of him, our memories growing up are preserved. Then I got my first camera + tons of film. I documented everything. When film turned into digital, that was a turning point in my life. I've been passionate about documenting and creating since I was a little girl running wild in the suburbs of St. Paul. I would steal my parent's film camera and take dozens (okay maybe hundreds) of blurry photos of our dog. In high school, I spent babysitting money on a polaroid and then finally my beloved point and shoot, which was my favorite accessory for a night out! I was gifted my first DSLR in my early twenties, and that changed the way I looked at the role photography played in my life. What was always a beloved hobby became my passion, and I've never been happier.
