Hi ya’ll! I’m Nat. I’m a southerner who’s recently moved to New England. I am thrilled to be a photographer and part of making memories with you! There is something truly special about being the person who creates lasting stories to share. My love for photography began when my great grandmother gave me her point and shoot camera, and since then, I have been hooked. Some of my favorite things include espresso tonics, thunderstorms, and bookstores. As a photographer, I live for the fleeting moments of light and stories. I do my best to capture those moments with my cameras, and I find great joy in doing so.

Awarded Best of Zola
My partner and I are both awkward and uncomfortable around being photographed. Natalie put both of us at ease, understood our vision, and helped bring it to life. She was responsive and supportive in the process of putting together the photoshoot, and very receptive to our creative ideas. We were absolutely blown away by the photos and amazed how she was able to easily direct us in a way that we didn't even focus on the fact we were being photographed. I highly recommend Natalie, especially as a safe and supportive photographer. We're grateful to have found such a wonderful photographer in Natalie to capture such important and loving moments, especially because both my partner and I felt unphotogentic and uncertain of how to show our connection prior to meeting her.

Capturing love stories all over the world. With a keen eye for detail and a love for genuine emotions, I strive to capture the essence of your unique love story. Each image is crafted with care, ensuring that your wedding day is not just an event but a timeless, cherished experience. I would love to be a part of your journey, preserving the magic and elegance of your celebration through our lens. Love all.

My husband and I got married in August of 2021. COVID-19 restrictions were winding down, however, we did have family attending the wedding from another country (and the border was still closed while we were planning our wedding earlier in 2021). When we were searching for vendors, we hoped that we could find someone that would be considerate of our additional difficulties of planning an (international) wedding. We also hoped that our photographer would be someone that would “join” our wedding, rather than “direct” the wedding. From the first phone call with Emily, to our engagement photo session, and our wedding, Emily exceeded all our expectations. While discussing the wedding, she made us feel our concerns and wishes were heard, providing her own experienced feedback along the way. She was prepared and flexible on our wedding day (which ended up being a rainy, outdoor wedding). As we hoped, she effortlessly and gracefully joined our wedding as what felt like just another family member. She kindly guided everyone throughout all organized photos and captured many beautiful candid photos as well. Emily is extremely talented in capturing amazing moments with exceptional photo style/quality. My husband and I (as well as many others that were part of our wedding) kept saying over and over how wonderful Emily was. Our wedding photos are displayed throughout our house and on our phones, laptops, etc. Emily went above and beyond to capture our day exactly as it was so that we could hold onto it forever through our photos. Since our wedding in 2021, we’ve worked with Emily on two other occasions, and she has continued to amaze us with her photos. We hope that she can join us in future significant family moments, because at this point, she feels like family!

Hello there! I'm Andrea, owner of Amative Creative, and every weekend we're so blessed to be able to tell the love stories of so many amazing couples. Like many others in this industry might say, we simply adore weddings. But what makes us a little different is our entire brand is centered around telling love stories specifically curated to reflect your vision and aesthetic. "Amative" means to be prone to love, so as you can see, we want nothing more than to tell your love story! But what makes us truly unique is that we understand every love story looks different. And we personalize every aspect of how we document your wedding day!

Awarded Best of Zola
Amative Creative stands as the paramount choice for your wedding photography and videography needs, not just in Virginia, but wherever your heart desires. Whether it's engagement photos, wedding photography, or videography, let me assure you that Amative Creative is your best choice! As a bride, planning a wedding can be incredibly stressful. I have never met a more passionate owner than Andrea, who genuinely cares and appreciates her clients and their needs. She is willing to work with you and listen to you. She doesn't make you feel like she knows better or that what you say isn't valuable. I cannot express how many vendors want to dictate how things should be and don't listen to your concerns. I cannot say enough good things about them. The photographers and videographers Amative Creative chooses to hire reflect what they value as a company. They are all wonderful. My words cannot adequately convey the depth of gratitude I hold for Amative Creative and Andrea. Andrea, you are a true gem, and your contributions to the wedding industry are nothing short of extraordinary. Thank you for everything; you are irreplaceable!

I have been a photographer for 8 years. Throughout my time as a photographer I’ve captured clothing, models, and memories. I shifted from corporate shootings to families and weddings because it gave me this warm fuzzy feeling when I edited my couples and families photos. Don’t be afraid to reach out to me and ask about my photography style, my editing style, or my favorite restaurant! I highly recommend scheduling a free consulting session!

From the very beginning of planning my surprise proposal to my girlfriend, working with Grace was an absolute pleasure. She was not only receptive to my ideas but also shared her own equally creative suggestions. Grace's professionalism and attention to detail were outstanding. What truly made the experience special was how she made the entire photoshoot feel like a fun activity for us as a couple. Her creativity shone through as she guided us through various poses that felt incredibly natural. Grace's ability to put us at ease made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. One more remarkable detail was her dedication to research, ensuring we had perfect sunrise photos. It was evident that she went the extra mile to time everything perfectly. What stood out the most, though, was her unique talent for capturing the emotion and joy of the moment. I can't thank her enough for creating such a magical and unforgettable memory for us!

Capture the North

5.0

Newmarket, NH
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $1,950
  • Serves Portland, ME

Capture the North was founded by multi-award-winning, and published photographer Sarah K. Marshall, and her husband, Christopher Marshall. Both are Marine Corps veterans and native New Englanders. Despite traveling across the world while serving in the Marine Corps, there is still something so magical about the New England area for them. Sarah was named Department of Defense Military Photographer of the Year 2020, and Marine Corps Photographer of the Year 2020 + 2021. Her work has been displayed in the National Museum of the Marine Corps and her imagery was the cover art of Leatherneck Magazine.

We loved having Sarah photograph our engagement photos and our wedding day! She made us feel comfortable even though we are not usually camera people. On our wedding day, we really wanted a photographer who was going to get great shots, but also not interfere with the day very much. Sarah did just what we wanted! She made sure to get beautiful photos, but also gave us space to enjoy our day. We cherish our wedding photos and highly recommend working with Capture the North!!

Hi! My name is Steve. I do visual storytelling. I’m married with three kids and in my spare time I record music and build things. I've been filming and photographing weddings since 2009. I love travel and getting to know unique couples.

Awarded Best of Zola
I have admired Steve's beautiful work for years! He has an artistic style that is uniquely his and that comes to him so naturally after years of honing his craft. He has an eye for things that most people wouldn't have seen. I've had the pleasure of getting to work with him several times now and he's so kind and has such a calming presence which is exactly what you want from your wedding photographer/videographer! I'm currently helping my sister plan her wedding and when she got engaged he was the first vendor I sent to her to look at. She was blown away, as I knew she would be, by his work and loved how his wedding videos felt so natural, candid, and also didn't look like every other wedding video. His ability to tell a story both in photograph and video is remarkable. As a wedding photographer, if I had to redo my wedding day, I would without a doubt have Steve there to capture it.

It was very important to me to have a wedding with a vintage look, and A.R. knew exactly what we wanted. He shot our wedding on a mix of digital and film and had tons of advice on how to style the lighting so that we could have a classic look. He was really polite and super easy going.

I have a long history as a photographer, starting in my twenties with large format view cameras, publishing a book of black and white portraits of Newfoundlanders, studying under Ansel Adams at his Yosemite workshops, and with Aaron Siskind and Harry Callahan at the Rhode Island School of Design. Now, my cameras and equipment are all the latest digital models, but I still rely on my experience and a well trained eye for capturing the optimal moment.

As the event coordinator at our venue I have worked with many wedding photographers, and I can say that Steve was absolutely top notch! He was a pleasure to work with, and the photos not only portray our property beautifully, he really captured the essence of this couple's personalities and wedding day joy with each and every crisp, clear shot. I would recommend BrightWorks Photography without reservation!
