Blue Dahlia Wooden Florals, LLC

5.0

Biddeford, ME

My business started when I was planning my own wedding. I love flowers, but we couldn't justify spending hundreds or thousands on real flowers to throw them away in a week when we also found out we were expecting our first child at the same time. In came wood flowers! After much practice, I discovered I have an eye for colors and floral design and now 4 years and MANY weddings and THOUSANDS of home decor pieces later, this is not only my passion but it is also my full time business. No side hustle here! You will have my undivided attention. I'll make sure your floral dreams come to life in wood and the best part, they LAST FOREVER!

Katie was delightful to work with for our October 2022 wedding. We went back and forth discussing the look of each piece, provided color examples, and double checked that we loved everything before we picked up our order. The flowers look stunning and everyone was amazed that they were wood flowers. My beautiful bouquet now sits on display in our house. I would 100% recommend!

          Awarded Best of Zola
I am so thrilled we chose Emily for our wedding flowers! Our wedding was a bit non traditional, so I wanted to go with a boho vibe for the bouquets, and Emily exceeded my wildest dreams! I had an idea of what they would look like as we had talked about my vision and she sent me the vision voard, but I was so overwhelmed with the day and honestly, funny enough, arrived at the venue to do our pre-ceremony photos forgetting all about the bouquets. When one of my bridesmaids handed me my bouquet I surprised my usually unemotional self by almost crying! It was more gorgeous than I ever imagined. All of my bridesmaids and people who have seen photos who weren’t even at the wedding are still talking about how perfect the bouquets were and how well they fit our vibe. The table greenery and centerpieces were also STUNNING! Most of the tables were long so had greenery, so I wasn’t exactly sure what she would do about the 4 circle tables, and the centerpieces were PERFECT! Simple, yet so beautiful! Not to mention, she surprised me by putting extra eucalyptus on our welcome sign (she replaced my scotch taped fake greenery, thank goodness!) and it looked so cute! I promise you will not regret choosing TipsyTulips!!

As my fiancé and I started the wedding planning process, we joked that our loose theme would be “flowers and love.” We knew we wanted lots of beautiful, lush florals as the primary decor focus, and also knew we didn’t want to spend the many thousands of dollars to achieve that look with a standard florist. If you’re in the same boat, and have an appetite for some DIYing, I’d STRONGLY recommend working with Bloom Culture. After some Googling for DIY wedding florals, I came across Bloom Culture and spoke with Allison for a custom consultation. During the call, Allison helped me express the type of floral look we were going for, and built out a custom floral package that would achieve it. She also laid out the delivery and prep process, and we landed on a final package and timeline for delivery. We received a LARGE box of flowers the week before the wedding and were immediately pleased with the quantity and quality of flowers we had received. Allison’s guide mentioned that some crushed or damaged blooms would be completely normal, but everything was so well packaged we didn’t notice more than a few damaged stems. From there, the DIYing began. Between unpacking, trimming, de-thorning, trimming again, building bouquets, arrangements, boutonnieres, etc, etc, it was a LOT of work. However, we referenced Allison’s guides (written, video tutorials) religiously and they laid out everything perfectly. She strongly recommends having plenty of assistants -- pay attention to this advice! Find a few trusted friends or family members who have time and artistic ability and it will make all the difference in your stress levels. The flowers all lasted beautifully for the wedding and we received so many compliments on how they looked. Allison - thank you for everything!

We booked Jeri for our rescheduled August 2021 wedding when our original florist couldn't do our new date. I love flowers and had a specific idea of the flowers and feel I wanted. Jeri did an incredible job! She executed our vision even better than I could have hoped with gorgeous bouquets, centerpieces, and cocktail table arrangements. I was so happy with them, and the tent looked incredible with the pops of color on the tables. I would definitely use Jeri again!
