Blue Dahlia Wooden Florals, LLC

5.0

Biddeford, ME

My business started when I was planning my own wedding. I love flowers, but we couldn't justify spending hundreds or thousands on real flowers to throw them away in a week when we also found out we were expecting our first child at the same time. In came wood flowers! After much practice, I discovered I have an eye for colors and floral design and now 4 years and MANY weddings and THOUSANDS of home decor pieces later, this is not only my passion but it is also my full time business. No side hustle here! You will have my undivided attention. I'll make sure your floral dreams come to life in wood and the best part, they LAST FOREVER!

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

        5.0

        Oklahoma City, OK
        • Serves South Berwick, ME

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

        Awarded Best of Zola
Please remember that its DIY flowers, your only buying bulk!!! Our wedding colours were navy and hot pink; we ordered dusty blue and cream "A la Cart" package and added White Ranunculus and Dark pink spray roses. We built: 5 bouts, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, 1 bridal bouquet and a flower crown. I still had a large bouquet left over and the pieces that fell off we used to shoot the close up details picture of the invites, rings, dress etc. we had to buy our own materials and we assembled them ourself but I was blown away with how easy it was, their customer service and the quality of products we received. We were a destination wedding coming from Canada to Las Vegas which made me worried but it was the easiest process and best decision we made!

Thousands of brides across the United States and Canada have trusted Something Borrowed Blooms to provide the perfect flowers for their wedding day. We offer brides the expensive peonies, delicate ranunculus, out-of-season anemones, and the ever-impossible-to-find-magnolia — all at a fraction of the cost.

We literally could not have been happier with our decision to rent from SBB! When I opened the boxes, I was so impressed with how real they looked, felt, and smelled. Everyone was shocked they were fake! Even the candles had a wax feel to them with flickering to mimic a real flame. Renting from SBB also saved us literally thousands of dollars on florals and rentals while still giving us the look we wanted. Additionally, it was so easy to receive and ship them back. Here are the items we rented: 1 Olivia Garden Cut Bridal Bouquet 6 Nina Bridesmaids Bouquets 1 Olivia Garland 1 Nina Garland 2 Nina Large Centerpieces 1 Set of Small Cane Lanterns 1 Set of Medium Cane Lanterns 1 Set of Large Cane Lanterns 3 Nina Dog Collars 2 Sets of Copper Glass Votives 6 Sets of Burnt Copper Candlesticks For our ceremony, I used the Olivia and Nina Garland to decorate our arch then we moved this to the Sweetheart table for our Reception along with several candlesticks and votives. For the reception, we had 2 tables with the Nina Large Centerpiece and several votive candles. 2 Tables had 1 small cane lantern, 1 medium cane lantern, and 1 large cane lantern and we tied the dog collars around the medium size cane lantern to add some florals. Then for 6 of our tables, we repurposed the bridesmaids bouquets in various vases along with several candlesticks and votives.

I knew I wanted Sola wooden flowers for my wedding but I also knew I was not creative enough to make my own. When I found my wedding venue, The Hinterland, she had a Wood and Word Blooms floral arrangement on display and I knew this was the direction I needed to go! Jen makes beautiful floral creations and she worked with me to create exactly what I had pictured! Jen was easy to work with and quick to respond. I just provided pintrest photos and colors that I was thinking and Jen worked her magic. I trusted her completely to make my vision come true and she surpassed my expectations! Not only did my wedding look incredible but now I have forever flowers to admire and remind me of the most perfect day. My guests could not believe these flowers were made of wood!

I have a little intern named Larry, a corgi-pit mix, who is the model for Little Blooms, who you will see a lot of on Instagram. Danielle was effortless to work with. From the first phone call when I had no idea about flowers or what I really needed for my wedding, Danielle made it easy to figure out. There’s so many aspects or area that could have flowers and Danielle was helpful in figuring out what I really needed but also within my budget. A few weeks prior to my wedding, I started second guessing, thinking I wanted to add an arbor to my ceremony. Danielle gave me quotes for everything and also tried to work within my budget. When my wedding finally came around, my bouquet was stunning and everything I could of imagined and more. I got so many compliments, it was filled with so many beautiful flowers. My bridesmaids, boutonnières , and center pieces were also stunning. Danielle was great and can’t recommend her enough!

We had a great experience with Tess @ Floralia. I was referred through a friend who's wedding I had been to - and I loved the flowers at her wedding. From the very beginning Tess was attentive to all of our needs. We had a call at the very beginning to go over broad strokes and inspiration images, then many emails in between until we got closer to the date. I'm thankful she was able to catch all of my back and forth decision making. In the end the flowers came out beautifully. Since I did not have 1 color for my bridesmaids (I gave them a tonal range), I was worried the flowers might clash, but Tess did a wonderful job in matching hues and colors to what I had envisioned. Would refer anyone looking for a florist with an eye for detail and creativity.

As my fiancé and I started the wedding planning process, we joked that our loose theme would be “flowers and love.” We knew we wanted lots of beautiful, lush florals as the primary decor focus, and also knew we didn’t want to spend the many thousands of dollars to achieve that look with a standard florist. If you’re in the same boat, and have an appetite for some DIYing, I’d STRONGLY recommend working with Bloom Culture. After some Googling for DIY wedding florals, I came across Bloom Culture and spoke with Allison for a custom consultation. During the call, Allison helped me express the type of floral look we were going for, and built out a custom floral package that would achieve it. She also laid out the delivery and prep process, and we landed on a final package and timeline for delivery. We received a LARGE box of flowers the week before the wedding and were immediately pleased with the quantity and quality of flowers we had received. Allison’s guide mentioned that some crushed or damaged blooms would be completely normal, but everything was so well packaged we didn’t notice more than a few damaged stems. From there, the DIYing began. Between unpacking, trimming, de-thorning, trimming again, building bouquets, arrangements, boutonnieres, etc, etc, it was a LOT of work. However, we referenced Allison’s guides (written, video tutorials) religiously and they laid out everything perfectly. She strongly recommends having plenty of assistants -- pay attention to this advice! Find a few trusted friends or family members who have time and artistic ability and it will make all the difference in your stress levels. The flowers all lasted beautifully for the wedding and we received so many compliments on how they looked. Allison - thank you for everything!

        Semper Virens Flowers

        5.0

        North Chelmsford, MA
        • Starts at $3,500
        • Serves South Berwick, ME

Designer Mary B. Hayes of Semper Virens Flowers creates spirited, nature-inspired florals for weddings and elopements. We use seasonal and locally-grown flowers and foliage to create bespoke florals for you. Our flowers will truly bring more beauty and joy to your event! We also offer workshops, including floral crowns and flower bars, which are perfect for a bridal shower or reception activity. (Weddings limited to less than 125 guests. )

We had such a great experience working with MB throughout the wedding planning process. For my bridal shower, she led a floral headdress workshop for the event, which was such a fun group activity, and they all turned out so beautifully! It was the perfect activity for the event. We also used MB for the flowers for our ceremony; she was an amazing thought partner and brought lots of great ideas to the table. I came in not knowing much about floral design and was a little intimidated, but she was able to take my high-level vision and run with it to create beautiful floral arrangements and a flower curtain for the back drop for our vows-- it was such a creative element that I would never have thought of! She also saved the day with flower petals and scrounging up a basket for our flower girl when we realized 5 mins before the ceremony that it had slipped my mind in the frenzy of the day :) She is so fun and easy to work with and has a beautiful, creative eye for floral design. I highly recommend!
