Hi! M’Kensie here, the younger counterpart of this mother-daughter duo and also just so happen to be much of the story behind how the barn came to be. I was in my final year of college and planning a wedding for the Summer of 2012. I was so very blessed to grow up on our family farm, with a dad who loves to build things and who wanted to make all my Pinterest dreams come true. So as wedding planning began, construction started going up, and PLOT TWIST, the groom and I broke up…..that’s when our family realized God had much bigger plans for the barn. So with a little more time to dream, and much more time for construction, Lone Oak Barn was born. My mom left her teaching job behind, and I joined a few years later, neither of us knowing the community we would gain. Every couple, every family, every vendor, non-profit, and company we’ve hosted has become part of the Lone Oak Family. Our hope is that you’ll come on in, stay awhile, and most importantly, come back and see us.

As a special treat to your guests, you can even reserve our historic Glass Bottom Boats! Spring Lake is an OUTDOOR venue with no cover. Clients are welcome to rent tents to accommodate their guests. There is one small conference room available, but seating and availability is very limited. Please keep this in mind when planning your date and time. Built in 1921, the Martindale Schoolhouse is an official Texas Historical Landmark. The feeling of being inside a 100 year-old school building will transport you back in time to experience what a rural school was like over a century ago. The Martindale Schoolhouse is centrally located between Austin and San Antonio and is perfect for weddings, special events, weekend getaways, and outdoor excursions. First, there’s the expansive five-room villa that was once the original school. Carefully curated with art from around the world, the schoolhouse sleeps 14 and has been fully modernized with a large kitchen, multiple seating areas, a great lawn and a covered veranda with an outdoor fireplace. Next, there's the Martindale Social Hall. It sleeps up to 12 people comfortably with 2 king-sized beds and 4 queen-sized beds. There are also 2 dining areas and 2 living room spaces—one with a wood-burning stove and the other with a stone fireplace. Our sprawling 2-acre main lawn with a large music stage makes for the perfect outdoor event space.
