“We had a beautiful wedding at Hotel Covington and overall were elated with how it turned out. Riley was easy and professional to work with as our details specialist, but it felt like other staff members were never quite on the same page. There were miscommunications about so many things I can't even remember them all— no space for the groomsmen to get ready in although that was offered at the time we booked the venue, garage parking was not included although we were told it would be, when we showed up for the rehearsal the staff thought we were having a dinner not our rehearsal and was not prepared for us to be in the space as another wedding was going on on the patio, there was an "event hold" above the cost of the room placed on our credit card which would have been fine, but we were not told about it in advance. All in all, not being told what to expect was our biggest issue. Paying for garage parking, not having the space for the groom's party to get ready, the credit card hold all would have been totally fine and reasonable, but it felt like that information was intentionally omitted. (Again, there was more than that, but I waited a little too long to write this review and can't remember it all at this point.) On the flip side, the staff at Hotel Covington were extremely proactive and helpful with my dad, who has mobility issues. They provided a wheelchair for him to use on-site and staff members went above and beyond to help him when he really needed it. I am eternally grateful for the kindness they showed him and our family. We were very happy with the quality at Hotel Covington, but communication was lacking. Our day-of coordinator alluded to more issues, but she was able to handle them instead of bringing me into it. If you plan to have your wedding at Hotel Covington ask LOTS of very specific questions, have your details specialist write as much detail into your day-pf plan, and bring your own day-of coordinator to act on your behalf, and you will have a lovely day.”

We work with an amazing tent company that can provide a covered reception, which is recommended.

“I would absolutely recommend Sunset Landing!!! The customer service is top notch, superb! Michelle and Ashley sat down with me and made my vision a true dream and reality!! I had both my ceremony and reception under two separate tents in front of the pond. My photos turned out so great with the beautiful pond behind us in almost every photo. They helped me with setting the spaces up the morning of, which took a big burden off my shoulders and helped take down everything that same night. The sunset that came down right behind us was absolutely breath taking!! The goats and cow had my guests absolutely flabbergasted and entertained while the bridal party, my husband and I got our photos taken. Side note: I appreciate the amount of consideration they have taken to keep me and my guests safe, such as: the fence around the pond, etc. I will be a repeat customer!!”

“The first thing we knew we wanted out of a venue was a small size - we didn't want more than 60 people in attendance. We picked this location initially with the guest count being are only criteria, but we were almost immediately surprised by so much more. The view, the gorgeous interiors, and the rich history were all things that finally led us to choose this as our venue for our wedding. But, above all else, was the venue owner - Roger Swonger. He went above and beyond to make our day as special as it possibly could be, and with his help, our wedding day went absolutely perfect. With just one planning session, and a couple of tours, Roger was able to guide us through the perfect day. He communicated well with all of the vendors, was able to provide an amazing wait staff, and bartender, and even thought of the small details - placing some flowers on our small wedding cake, putting a pen by the guest book, etc. Most importantly to us, as a now husband and husband duo, was finding a venue that was accepting. This was Roger to a tee - not only did he treat us with kindness, he guided us towards other LGBTQ friendly vendors as well. With his support and guidance, we had a wedding that completely surpassed our exceptions of what a wedding could ever look like in an area like Kentucky. I don't think there is any universe where we could have had a better wedding, and this is all thanks to Roger, and all thanks to having our wedding ceremony at Wiedemann Hill Mansion.”
