The Wellington Venue is an original 1800's Barn that has been remodeled into a beautiful Wedding Barn! The Barn Wedding Rental will include the following: -1,400 square foot Barn with elegant Chandeliers and string lighting -Dance floor and DJ area -Bridal Suite -Groom's Suite -Rear-attached 900 square foot Venue with prep kitchen (perfect for cocktail hour / food set-up) -All tables and chairs needed for Reception and Ceremony (up to 120 guests) - These include round and rectangle tables -Bose sound system with microphone -Large deck with mountain views (great during cocktail hour as well) -Movable homemade, rustic Wooden Bar -Fire pit (if laws and weather permit at that time) -Parking for 65 vehicles (we do have over-flow parking as well) -Parking attendants -2 Bathrooms -3 electric fireplaces -"Something Borrowed" Room (decor items for you to look through for your wedding!) Just a short TWENTY minute drive south of Lynchburg, Avoca, the principal architectural landmark of the Town of Altavista, is an American Queen Anne-style house, designed by architect J.M.B. Lewis and built in 1901. Designated a Virginia Historic Landmark and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, Avoca is the home site of Colonel Charles Lynch, Revolutionary War hero. On the of grounds of the Museum, enjoy your private event with the ambiance of the Avoca mansion and the original Revolutionary War era kitchen, as well as 18th century outbuildings. Avoca’s grounds also feature a restored Victorian Garden and the Donal and Nancy Dinwiddie Arboretum opened in 2007!

Longacre boasts over 2 acres of boxwood and garden spaces to create a beautiful outdoor and English Garden wedding scene. We have several locations within the grounds for receptions and ceremonies to accommodate 20 to 200 guests. The Gazebo works as both a great wedding arch with the fountain area perfect for reception gathering of a Tudor house backdrop to your ceremony. Grounds can be rented for the afternoon or the entire weekend, including the entire house and Carriage House for your caterer and wedding ready space.
