Fountainhead Floral Design

5.0

Milford, CT
  • Starts at $3,000
  • Serves Norwalk, CT

The granddaughter of two gardeners, I have always felt a connection to the earth through the soil. When someone brings flowers into a room, something changes...an energy, an excitement! I love being able to bring that kind of beauty into peoples lives. I'm a small-town girl who enjoys anything that involves working with my hands from cooking to knitting. I'm a total animal lover (partial to dogs), a die-hard Grey's Anatomy fan, and I take my martinis extra dirty. When I'm not flowering in our studio in Milford, Connecticut, I'm mommin' to three amazing little boys (our dog Pippa and cat, Galaxy).

We loved working with Kate and her team for our wedding on 9/30/22. She brought my vision to life and collaborated with me to try out different flowers that were equally beautiful but more in our budget. Not only that, but we were planning our wedding from VA and had to plan everything virtually, which she was super flexible about! We got so many compliments on the florals at our wedding and I couldn't have been happier with how beautiful everything turned out! They also helped moved our arch into our reception after the ceremony and made sure everything was perfect. Kate was recommended to me by another bride and I would definitely recommend her to anyone as well!

Shannon was such a wonderful vendor to work with! I was lucky enough to book Three Roots just before their big boom this past year and I am so glad I was able to sneak in while the book was open in 2022. Right from the start, Shannon was amazing - giving me guidance when I wasn’t sure what I wanted beyond “purple” and “bouquets that will look great in the photos,” but still letting me figure out what I wanted on my own. Her proposal was exactly what I hadn’t known I was looking for! For every step along the way, Shannon was there to answer questions and was super communicative about any/all changes I needed. And she is there for YOU no matter what. I had an …incident where a family member pulled her aside go say they wanted something bigger for centerpieces and they would pay for it and Shannon told them with no hesitation that I was the client and she works only with what I say I want. I knew I had picked the right florist early on but that moment was really what made me so so happy. I can’t even describe my bouquets though!! We had a pretty big bridal party and yet each bridesmaid bouquet looked unique and beautiful. I was so in love with my bridal bouquet and still go back to look at Shannon’s vendor photos of it so I can see every little detail that isn’t necessarily visible in the photos. But they still hit my mark of wanting bouquets that looked beautiful in photos because that was most important to me. I cannot recommend Shannon and Three Roots enough!

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers

5.0

Oklahoma City, OK
  • Serves Norwalk, CT

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Doing our own wedding flowers was the best choice my daughter made for her wedding, other than choosing the groom of course. You do have to commit some time in the days before the wedding but it is so worth it. There are so many video tutorials to watch that you feel like an expert. They don't leave you high and dry after you purchase either. They are in contact with you to make sure everything is going good. That was very helpful. The memories we made together by making our own flower arrangements and bouquets using Flower Moxie was priceless. It also looked like we spent a fortune on flowers because we had so many extra (they give you more than you need to account for some loss) that we had flowers everywhere as extra decoration.

Something Borrowed Blooms

4.8

Lafayette, LA
  • Starts at $250
  • Serves Norwalk, CT

Thousands of brides across the United States and Canada have trusted Something Borrowed Blooms to provide the perfect flowers for their wedding day. We offer brides the expensive peonies, delicate ranunculus, out-of-season anemones, and the ever-impossible-to-find-magnolia — all at a fraction of the cost.

My new last name is Flowers, so naturally, I HAD to ensure the flowers were stunning. SBB has great communication and is very professional. My flowers were handled with care and saved a great deal on wedding flowers. I was able to rent flowers for the tables, bouts/bridal bouquets, wedding signage, and corsages for around 900. SBB has exceeded my expectations for silk flowers and enjoyed not having to tend to wilted flowers on my special day.

When I was looking for flowers for my wedding, I wanted to do something “different”. I looked around for wood flower providers and wasn’t impressed until fate smiled on me and I came across Jen and Wood & Word Blooms. Her response time was crazy fast, and after one phone call and a couple of emails, she knew exactly what I wanted. I happen to live near Jen, so I ended up picking up my bouquets from her house. They were packaged with care, and she gave me some extras she had painted, which I ended up using in my and my flower girl’s hair. Her thoughtfulness in providing some extra supplies “just in case”, is a wonderful thing you won’t find with just any vendor. Everyone complimented us on the bouquets, boutonnières, and corsages. Many people still have them on display in their homes. If you want someone who truly cares about your vision and who honestly cares about providing a quality product, call Jen. She’s amazing!

Little Blooms

5.0

Nashua, NH
  • Starts at $4,000
  • Serves Norwalk, CT

I started my business in 2018, after I finished floral design classes from Cass School of Floral in Watertown, MA. I have had hands on experience from Floral Arts in Westford, MA and have completed over 15 weddings in my time as a floral designer. I have a little intern named Larry, a corgi-pit mix, who is the model for Little Blooms, who you will see a lot of on Instagram. I love using locally grown flowers as much as I can in my work, to really showcase 'farm to florist'.

Awarded Best of Zola
Danielle the florist behind Little Blooms is incredible. She is very talented, easy to communicate with, and truly professional. I can’t even count the number of compliments I received on my wedding bouquet. The flower crown she made for my flower girl was made with great detail and she also made the the guys boutineers to perfectly compliment my bouquet. We touched base before the big day a few times and I gave her some ideas of what I was looking for, but ultimately I told her to put her own touches on my ideas and I’m so happy I did! If you’re considering Danielle and Little Blooms for your big day (or any event) you will not regret it!!

As my fiancé and I started the wedding planning process, we joked that our loose theme would be “flowers and love.” We knew we wanted lots of beautiful, lush florals as the primary decor focus, and also knew we didn’t want to spend the many thousands of dollars to achieve that look with a standard florist. If you’re in the same boat, and have an appetite for some DIYing, I’d STRONGLY recommend working with Bloom Culture. After some Googling for DIY wedding florals, I came across Bloom Culture and spoke with Allison for a custom consultation. During the call, Allison helped me express the type of floral look we were going for, and built out a custom floral package that would achieve it. She also laid out the delivery and prep process, and we landed on a final package and timeline for delivery. We received a LARGE box of flowers the week before the wedding and were immediately pleased with the quantity and quality of flowers we had received. Allison’s guide mentioned that some crushed or damaged blooms would be completely normal, but everything was so well packaged we didn’t notice more than a few damaged stems. From there, the DIYing began. Between unpacking, trimming, de-thorning, trimming again, building bouquets, arrangements, boutonnieres, etc, etc, it was a LOT of work. However, we referenced Allison’s guides (written, video tutorials) religiously and they laid out everything perfectly. She strongly recommends having plenty of assistants -- pay attention to this advice! Find a few trusted friends or family members who have time and artistic ability and it will make all the difference in your stress levels. The flowers all lasted beautifully for the wedding and we received so many compliments on how they looked. Allison - thank you for everything!
