Owner and lead designer Christopher Skerritt has a life long love for plants & flowers. He has spent most of his time being surrounded by the natural beauty of flowers and has based his career around his passion. After several years of working with a few prestigious florists in the Northeast, he decided to open his own floral design studio in 2018. It is his pleasure to create one of a kind, custom floral designs for each of his couples and bring their wedding dreams into reality.

At CMD, we are a boutique design studio specializing in floral & event design in Portland & throughout New England. At CMD, we are floral designers, so we help with overall event and table design. To help make this process easier (and funner!), we have a built a large rental inventory that includes candles, custom arbors, votive holders and beyond!

Petals Farm & Garden Design is a small flower farm that grows, harvests, and curates flowers for you. Our passion for growing flowers is why we love showing off these blooms on your special day. Every element, from the soil, the sun, and the tender loving care, is where your flowers begin. Our team has been digging in the dirt and playing with flowers since they were girls. Our designers know the seasons and the flowers and can complement each piece uniquely. Our 'fresh from the garden' floral designs will complement your day perfectly.

The Harpswell Garden Club fosters a love of gardening through informative programs for its members and guests. We also share gardening experiences, create public garden spaces, and explore the interrelatedness of our gardens and the natural world. Harpswell Garden Club is a member of the Garden Club Federation of Maine, the New England Garden Clubs, Inc, and the National Garden Clubs, Inc. Our club is also a partner in Harpswell Invasive Plant Partnership.

Besides designing for you, I also offer DIY Wood Flower Experiences to create your wedding florals alongside me in person or virtually and 1:1 sessions to help DIY brides learn to do it themselves.

My business started when I was planning my own wedding. I love flowers, but we couldn't justify spending hundreds or thousands on real flowers to throw them away in a week when we also found out we were expecting our first child at the same time. In came wood flowers! After much practice, I discovered I have an eye for colors and floral design and now 4 years and MANY weddings and THOUSANDS of home decor pieces later, this is not only my passion but it is also my full time business. I started my business in 2018, after I finished floral design classes from Cass School of Floral in Watertown, MA. I have had hands on experience from Floral Arts in Westford, MA and have completed over 15 weddings in my time as a floral designer. I have a little intern named Larry, a corgi-pit mix, who is the model for Little Blooms, who you will see a lot of on Instagram. I love using locally grown flowers as much as I can in my work, to really showcase 'farm to florist'.
